Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from all the craziness. So, I woke up in my little spot on Jl. Yos Sudarso, right by the beach. The sun was blazin’, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local market on Jl. Trikora. You know, the one with all the fresh fish and crazy fruits? I’m talkin’ durians, mangosteens, and all that good stuff. I was just vibin’, lookin’ for some inspiration for my next art piece. I mean, how can you not get inspired by the colors and smells? But then, outta nowhere, this dude bumps into me. Like, c’mon man, watch where you’re going! I spilled my fresh coconut water all over my sketchbook. Ugh! I was fuming. But then, I saw this little kid selling bracelets. He had the biggest smile, and I couldn’t help but feel my anger melt away. I bought a couple, and he was so stoked. Made my heart feel all warm and fuzzy, ya know? Kids have that magic. After that, I decided to stroll down to Pantai Manokwari. The waves were crashing, and I thought, “This is the life.” I plopped down on the sand, pulled out my sketchbook (the one that survived the coconut disaster), and started doodling. I was lost in my world when suddenly, a group of locals started playing music nearby. They were jamming out, and I was like, “Heck yes! This is the vibe!” But then, outta nowhere, a stray dog decided my backpack was its new best friend. It started digging through my stuff! I was like, “Dude, that’s my lunch!” I had to chase it down the beach, and let me tell you, I’m not exactly a sprinter. I finally caught up, and the dog just looked at me like, “What’s the big deal?” I couldn’t help but laugh. Later, I wandered over to Jl. Merdeka, where all the street food stalls are. I was starving! I grabbed some soto Manokwari, and oh man, it was heavenly. The flavors were poppin’! I was in food heaven, but then I saw a rat scurry by. Like, seriously? In the middle of my meal? I almost lost it. But hey, it’s all part of the experience, right? As the sun started to set, I made my way to the local art gallery. It’s this cool spot on Jl. Siliwangi. They had an exhibition of local artists, and wow, the talent here is insane! I was blown away. I felt inspired again, like I could create something epic. But then, I overheard this guy talking about how the government was planning to tear down some of the old buildings for new developments. I was like, “No way! Not the old town!” I mean, that’s where the heart of Manokwari is. I got all fired up, thinking about how art and culture are so important. By the time I headed home, I was a mix of emotions. Happy, angry, inspired, and a bit exhausted. Manokwari is wild, and I love it. It’s got this energy that just pulls you in. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. But for now, I’m crashing. Peace out!
