Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a bartender in Maros is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I roll into work at this little joint on Jalan Raya, right? It’s a cozy spot, but today? Today was a whole different beast. First off, it’s raining cats and dogs. Like, seriously, I thought I’d need a boat to get to work. But hey, Maros is used to this kinda weather. The streets were slick, and I almost wiped out on the way in. I mean, who needs a gym when you can just try not to fall on your face, am I right? So, I get behind the bar, and it’s already packed. I’m talkin’ shoulder-to-shoulder, people everywhere. The vibe is electric, but also kinda chaotic. I’m pouring drinks like a madman. Bintang here, Arak there, and don’t even get me started on the cocktails. I swear, if I hear “Mojito” one more time, I might just lose it. Then, this dude walks in. He’s got this wild hair, like he just got outta a wind tunnel. He orders a drink, but he’s so loud, I can’t even hear him. I’m like, “Bro, chill! We’re not at a concert!” But he’s all hyped up, talking about some festival happening down by the river. Apparently, it’s a big deal, and I’m like, “Great, just what I need—more people!” But then, outta nowhere, this girl walks in. She’s got this smile that could light up the whole street. I’m not even kidding. She orders a cocktail, and I whip up my special mix. I call it the “Maros Magic.” It’s got a bit of everything—sweet, sour, a lil’ kick. She takes a sip, and her eyes go wide. “This is amazing!” she says. I’m blushing like a tomato. But then, the mood shifts. This group of guys starts arguing over a game on the TV. I’m talkin’ full-on shouting match. One guy spills his drink all over the bar. I’m like, “Dude, really? You’re gonna make me clean that up?” I mean, come on! It’s a bar, not a wrestling ring! So, I’m trying to calm them down, but it’s like herding cats. Finally, I just throw a round of shots their way. “On the house!” I yell. They quiet down, and I’m thinking, “Phew, crisis averted.” But then, the wild-haired dude starts dancing on the bar. I’m like, “What is happening?!” And just when I think it can’t get crazier, the power goes out. Yup, in the middle of all this madness, the lights go out. It’s pitch black, and I’m fumbling around like a blindfolded chicken. But then, I hear singing. The whole bar starts belting out some old Indonesian song. It’s hilarious and kinda beautiful at the same time. After a few minutes, the lights flicker back on, and everyone’s cheering. I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. This is Maros, man. It’s wild, it’s unpredictable, but it’s home. By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. I’ve met some cool people, shared some laughs, and even made a few new friends. As I clean up, I can’t help but smile. This city, with its crazy streets and vibrant life, always keeps me on my toes. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Maros. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
