Man, what a day! Seriously, Martapura is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, but nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit the streets of Jl. Ahmad Yani, right? You know, the main drag. It’s always buzzing. I’m just tryna grab some breakfast at this warung I love. Nasi goreng? Yes, please! But guess what? They ran out. Like, how do you run out of fried rice in Indonesia? Ugh! So, I’m hangry, right? I’m pacing around, and then I spot this street vendor selling pisang goreng. Fried bananas, y’all! I’m like, “Okay, this’ll do.” I grab a bunch, and they’re hot and crispy. Heaven! But then, outta nowhere, this stray cat jumps on my leg. I freak out, drop my bananas, and they go splat on the pavement. I’m like, “Noooo!” Cat just looks at me like, “What’s your problem, dude?” After that drama, I decide to stroll down Jl. Raya Martapura. It’s a vibe, man. The market’s packed. People everywhere, haggling over everything. I love the chaos. But then, I see this guy trying to sell fake gemstones. Like, come on, bro! Martapura is known for its gems, and you’re out here peddling plastic? I’m shaking my head, thinking, “Dude, you’re gonna get caught.” Then, I bump into my buddy, Rudi. He’s always got the latest gossip. Apparently, there’s a new café opening on Jl. Pahlawan. I’m like, “Cool, let’s check it out!” So we head over, and it’s this cute little spot with a view of the Martapura River. But the coffee? Ugh, it’s burnt. I’m sipping it, trying to be polite, but it’s like drinking liquid regret. Rudi’s cracking jokes, and I’m just nodding, trying not to gag. After that, we decide to hit up the Martapura Grand Mosque. It’s stunning, man. The architecture is on point. I’m taking pics, feeling all spiritual, when suddenly, this kid runs by, kicks a soccer ball, and it hits me right in the leg. I’m like, “Seriously?!” The kid just laughs and runs off. I can’t even be mad. It’s Martapura, right? Then, the sun starts setting, and the sky is all orange and pink. I’m feeling good again. We walk down to the riverbank, and it’s packed with families. Kids are flying kites, and the vibe is just perfect. I’m thinking, “This is what life’s about.” But then, outta nowhere, this old man starts yelling at some kids for flying their kites too close to his house. I’m like, “Chill, grandpa! It’s just a kite!” As the night rolls in, we hit up a food stall on Jl. Sisingamangaraja. I’m craving some sate. The smell is insane! I order a bunch, and they’re so good, I can’t even. But then, I spill some sauce on my shirt. Great. Just great. I’m walking around looking like a mess. Rudi’s laughing at me, and I’m like, “Dude, it’s a fashion statement!” Finally, we end the night at this karaoke place. I’m not even a singer, but after a few drinks, I’m belting out some dang pop songs. Rudi’s recording me, and I’m like, “Delete that!” But he won’t. The crowd’s loving it, and I’m feeling like a rockstar. So yeah, Martapura, man. It’s a rollercoaster. One minute you’re hangry, the next you’re singing your heart out. I love this place, even with all the craziness. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s adventures!
