Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from all the craziness in Merauke. Like, where do I even start? So, I woke up this morning, right? Sun’s blasting through my window. I’m like, “Ugh, another day in Merauke.” But then I remembered, today’s the day I’m gonna hit the market on Jalan Raya Merauke. You know, the one that’s always buzzing with life? Yeah, that one. I grab my coffee, and let me tell ya, it was stronger than my will to get outta bed. I’m chugging it down, thinking about all the fresh fruits I’m gonna snag. Mangos, papayas, you name it! I’m practically drooling. So, I head out, and the heat hits me like a brick wall. I’m sweating buckets, but whatever, I’m on a mission. I stroll down Jalan Jendral Sudirman, and man, the street vendors are out in full force. I see this dude selling grilled fish. I’m like, “Bro, I’ll take two!” While I’m munching, I hear this commotion. Turns out, some guy’s trying to sell a pet parrot. A PARROT! I mean, who even buys a parrot in Merauke? But this bird starts squawking like it’s auditioning for a talent show. I’m cracking up. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady comes up to me. She’s like, “You want to buy my special sambal?” I’m like, “Lady, I don’t even know what sambal is!” But she’s persistent. I end up buying it. Spoiler alert: it was fire. Like, my mouth was on fire. After that, I decide to hit the beach. Pantai Rawa Biru, here I come! I’m thinking, “Finally, some chill time.” But nah, the waves are wild today. I’m trying to swim, and the ocean’s like, “Not today, buddy!” I get tossed around like a rag doll. I’m laughing and gasping for air at the same time. Then, I see this group of kids playing soccer on the beach. They’re having a blast, and I’m like, “I wanna join!” So, I jump in, and let me tell ya, I’m not as spry as I used to be. I trip over my own feet and faceplant in the sand. Classic me, right? The kids are rolling on the ground laughing. I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, laugh it up!” After that, I’m feeling all pumped, so I head to the local warung for some dinner. I order nasi goreng, and it’s like a party in my mouth. I’m shoveling it in, and the owner’s like, “You like it?” I’m like, “Dude, I could marry this dish!” But then, the power goes out. Just like that. I’m sitting in the dark, and I’m like, “Great, just great.” But the locals are unfazed. They whip out candles and start telling stories. I’m sitting there, listening to tales of Merauke’s history, and it’s actually kinda cool. Finally, I head home, exhausted but happy. I’m thinking about all the wild stuff that happened today. Merauke, you never cease to amaze me. I mean, where else can you buy sambal from a lady, get tossed by the ocean, and play soccer with kids all in one day? So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and chaos. Just another day in Merauke, I guess. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
