Man, what a day! I swear, Muara-Teweh just threw me for a loop. I’m a forester, right? So, I’m used to chillin’ in the woods, not dodging traffic on Jalan Jendral Sudirman. But today? Pffft, it was a whole different ball game. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be a breeze.” Ha! Little did I know. I head out, and the first thing I notice is the traffic. Like, seriously? It’s a small city, but it felt like Jakarta during rush hour. I’m sittin’ there, stuck on Jalan Pahlawan, just fuming. I mean, c’mon, people! It’s not that hard to drive! Finally, I get to the market. Man, the hustle and bustle is wild. I’m tryin’ to grab some supplies for my forestry work. You know, like seeds and stuff. But the vendors? They’re all over the place! “Buy this! Buy that!” I’m like, “Chill, I just need some fertilizer!” And then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, and BAM! He knocks over a whole stack of durians. I’m talkin’ about a durian explosion! The smell? Ugh, it’s like a foot in a sock. I’m gagging, but the kid? He just laughs and runs off. I’m standing there, covered in durian guts, thinkin’, “This is NOT how I pictured my day.” After that, I decide to take a stroll along the river. The Barito River is beautiful, man. But today? It was like a scene from a horror movie. There’s trash everywhere! I’m talkin’ plastic bottles, old flip-flops, you name it. I’m just shaking my head, like, “C’mon, people! We gotta do better!” Then, I bump into this old dude. He’s chillin’ by the river, fishing. I’m like, “Hey, catch anything?” He just grins and says, “Only the usual – regrets and bad decisions.” I laugh, but then I think, “Damn, that’s deep.” So, I’m tryin’ to shake off the bad vibes, right? I head over to the local café on Jalan Merdeka. I order a kopi, and it’s like liquid gold. Seriously, best coffee ever! I’m sippin’ it, feelin’ all zen, when suddenly, the power goes out. Just my luck! I’m sittin’ there in the dark, and I can hear people grumbling. But then, this guy starts singing! Like, full-on karaoke in the dark. It’s hilarious! Everyone’s laughing, and I’m just thinking, “Only in Muara-Teweh, man.” After the power comes back, I decide to head home. But guess what? I get lost! I’m wandering around Jalan Raya, and I’m like, “Where the heck am I?” I pull out my phone, but of course, no signal. Classic! Finally, I find my way back, but I’m exhausted. I flop down on my couch, and I’m just like, “What a day!” I mean, from durian disasters to karaoke in the dark, Muara-Teweh really knows how to keep things interesting. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but hey, that’s life, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully, less durian!
