Man, what a day! Ngemplak, you wild beast! I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring Tuesday. Boy, was I wrong. First off, I hit the streets of Jl. Raya Ngemplak. You know, the one that’s always packed with motorbikes? Yeah, that one. I swear, it’s like a scene from a movie. Everyone’s honking, weaving in and out. I’m just trying to get to my office, right? But nooo, traffic’s a nightmare. I’m stuck behind this dude on a scooter, and he’s just chillin’. Like, bro, move it! Finally, I get to the office. My phone’s blowing up. Clients are freaking out. “Where’s my money?” “Why’s the market crashing?” Ugh, can’t a broker catch a break? I mean, I love my job, but some days, it’s like herding cats. Then, I get this call from a guy on Jl. Candi. He’s all panicky. “I need to sell my stocks NOW!” I’m like, dude, chill. It’s not the end of the world. But he’s not having it. So, I rush over. On the way, I pass by that little warung on Jl. Suka. You know, the one with the best nasi goreng? I’m starving, but I can’t stop. Gotta keep my head in the game. I finally get to this guy’s place. He’s pacing like a caged tiger. I sit him down, and we talk it out. Turns out, he was just overreacting. Classic! I mean, who doesn’t love a little drama, right? After that, I’m feeling good. I head back to the office, but then—bam!—I get a flat tire on Jl. Merapi. Seriously? Just my luck. I’m cursing under my breath, trying to change it. This old lady walks by and gives me the side-eye. Like, lady, I’m not trying to impress you here! Finally, I get it fixed. I’m back on the road, and I’m thinking, “Okay, maybe I can salvage this day.” But nope! I get a call from my boss. “We need to talk.” Oh great, what now? I get to the office, and he’s all serious. Turns out, we’re merging with another firm. I’m like, “What?!” My mind’s racing. What does this mean for me? For my clients? But then, he drops the bomb. “You’re gonna lead the new team.” Wait, what? I’m shocked, but also kinda pumped. This could be huge! So, I’m riding this emotional rollercoaster. Happy, stressed, confused. I head out for a breather. I stroll down Jl. Kebon, just trying to clear my head. The sunset is gorgeous, and I can’t help but smile. But then, I see this street performer. He’s playing the angklung, and it’s beautiful. I stop, listen, and for a moment, everything’s perfect. Just me, the music, and Ngemplak’s vibe. As I head home, I can’t help but think about the day. It was a mess, but it was MY mess. Ngemplak, you crazy city, you keep me on my toes. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
