Man, what a day! I woke up in Ngunut, and I swear, I thought it was just gonna be another chill day. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit the streets of Jl. Raya Ngunut, and it was like a scene from a movie. People everywhere, vendors shouting, the smell of fried tofu wafting through the air. I mean, who doesn’t love that? So, I’m walking, right? Just minding my own business, when I see this dude trying to sell some weird fruit. Like, what even is a soursop? I’m all for trying new things, but that looked like a green alien. I laughed, and he gave me this look like I just insulted his mother. Chill, bro, it’s just fruit! Then, I hit up the market on Jl. Diponegoro. Man, it was packed! I’m dodging people left and right, trying not to spill my iced tea. And then, boom! I bump into this old lady. She’s got a basket full of veggies, and I’m like, “Sorry, ma’am!” But she just smiles and says, “No problem, young warrior!” Young warrior? I mean, I’m flattered, but I’m just a dude in a tank top. After that, I decided to grab some lunch at this little warung. The owner, Pak Budi, is a legend. He makes the best nasi goreng in town. I’m sitting there, scarfing down my food, when suddenly, a cat jumps on my table. Like, excuse me, Mr. Cat, this is my lunch! But then it just stares at me with those big eyes, and I’m like, “Fine, you can have a bite.” But then, outta nowhere, I hear this commotion outside. I rush out, and there’s a street performer doing some insane fire tricks on Jl. Pahlawan. I’m talking flames, music, the whole shebang! I’m clapping, cheering, and then—WHAM!—a fireball goes flying over my head. I duck like I’m in a war zone. My heart’s racing, and I’m thinking, “This is it, I’m gonna be a crispy warrior!” After that near-death experience, I needed a breather. So, I strolled over to the park near Alun-Alun Ngunut. It’s so chill there. Kids are playing, couples are taking selfies, and I’m just sitting on a bench, trying to process the day. I pull out my phone to check the time, and guess what? My battery’s dead. Classic! I’m sitting there, feeling all philosophical, when this group of teenagers walks by, blasting music. They’re laughing, having a good time, and I can’t help but smile. It’s moments like these that make you realize how alive this city is. Ngunut’s got its quirks, but it’s home, ya know? But then, I hear someone shout. I look up, and it’s that same dude from earlier with the soursop! He’s arguing with a guy over a parking spot. I mean, c’mon, it’s just a parking spot! But they’re going at it like it’s the end of the world. I’m just sitting there, munching on some snacks I bought, thinking, “This is better than reality TV.” As the sun started to set, I made my way back home. The sky was painted in shades of orange and pink, and I couldn’t help but feel grateful. Ngunut may be chaotic, but it’s my chaos. I love the hustle, the people, the food, and even the random cats. So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of drama. Just another day in the life of a warrior in Ngunut. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
