Man, today was a wild ride in Padangsidempuan! Like, seriously, I can’t even. Woke up late, as usual. My phone was buzzing like crazy. I was supposed to meet up with some local musicians at Jl. Sisingamangaraja. Ugh, traffic was a nightmare! So, I hop on my bike, zooming through the streets. The air smells like fried tofu and spices. Love it! But then, bam! A goat just strolls across the road. Like, dude, where you going? I swear, animals have no respect for traffic rules here. Finally, I get to the café. It’s packed! Everyone’s vibing, chatting, and I’m just trying to find my crew. I spot them at the back, all hyped up. They’re talking about this new song they wrote. I’m like, “Yo, let’s hear it!” But then, my buddy Rudi spills his drink all over my laptop. I’m like, “Are you kidding me, bro?” But then, the music starts. And wow, it’s fire! They’re mixing traditional sounds with modern beats. I’m feeling it! The rhythm of Padangsidempuan is in the air. The way the sun hits the rice fields outside, it’s like a scene from a movie. After the jam sesh, we decide to hit up Jl. Diponegoro for some street food. I’m talking about the best sate and nasi goreng ever. I’m stuffing my face, and my buddy is like, “Dude, slow down!” But I can’t help it! It’s too good! Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon level! We dash for cover under this little warung. I’m soaked, but laughing. The locals are chill, just watching the rain. I love how laid-back everyone is here. But then, I get a call. It’s my editor. She’s like, “Where’s the mix for the new track?” I’m like, “Uh, I’m kinda busy right now!” She’s not having it. I’m stressed, trying to explain while dodging raindrops. Finally, the rain stops. We head to the park near Jl. Merdeka. It’s beautiful, man! The trees, the flowers, everything’s so green. We start jamming again, and people gather around. It’s like a mini concert! I’m on cloud nine. But then, this guy comes up, super serious. He’s like, “You can’t play here.” I’m like, “What? Why not?” Turns out, he’s from the local council. I’m fuming! But then, he cracks a smile and says, “Just keep it down, okay?” I’m like, “Phew, thanks, man!” As the sun sets, the sky turns orange. It’s magical. I’m feeling grateful for this crazy day. Padangsidempuan, you’ve got my heart. I head home, exhausted but happy. What a day! I can’t wait to do it all again.
