Man, lemme tell ya about my day in Pagar-Alam. It was wild, like, seriously. I woke up, and the sun was blazin’ through my window. I’m a machinist, right? So, I’m used to the grind, but today? Today was somethin’ else. First off, I hit the streets of Pagar-Alam, and it was like a scene from a movie. You got the cool breeze from the mountains, and the smell of street food hittin’ ya like a freight train. I’m talkin’ about those fried bananas, pisang goreng, man! I could smell ‘em from a mile away. So, I grabbed a couple. Best decision ever. But then, I had to get to work. I took the route through Jalan Merdeka. Traffic was a mess, like always. I swear, if I had a dollar for every honk, I’d be rich. I was stuck behind this old dude on a motorbike. He was goin’ like 10 km/h. C’mon, man! We ain’t got all day! Finally, I made it to the workshop. It was packed. My buddy, Rudi, was already there, lookin’ frazzled. “Dude, we got a machine down!” he yelled. Great. Just what I needed. So, we dove into it. I was elbow-deep in grease, cursing under my breath. But hey, that’s machinist life, right? Then, outta nowhere, the power went out. Classic Pagar-Alam! I mean, it’s like the universe was playin’ tricks on us. We’re sittin’ there in the dark, and I’m thinkin’, “What’s next? A meteor shower?” Rudi pulls out his phone, and we start crackin’ jokes. “At least we ain’t in the middle of a volcano!” I said. After a while, the lights flickered back on. Thank goodness! We got the machine up and runnin’. But then, I got a call from my mom. She’s like, “You better come home for dinner!” I’m like, “Mom, I’m in the middle of a crisis here!” But you know how moms are. Gotta love ‘em. So, I wrapped up at work and headed home. Took Jalan Raya Pagar-Alam, and the sunset was insane. The sky was all orange and purple, like someone spilled paint everywhere. I stopped for a sec, just to soak it in. Pagar-Alam is beautiful, man. When I got home, my mom had this feast ready. Rice, rendang, sambal—everything! I was so hungry, I could’ve eaten a horse. We sat down, and she started tellin’ me about her day. I love that woman, but she can talk! I’m just nodding, shoveling food in my mouth. Then, outta nowhere, my little sister bursts in, all excited. “I got an A on my test!” she screams. I’m like, “That’s awesome, kiddo!” But then she starts bragging about it. “I’m smarter than you!” she says. I just laughed. Kids, man. After dinner, I went out for a walk. The streets were lit up, and the night market was buzzin’. I hit up a stall for some more pisang goreng. Can’t get enough! I ran into some old friends, and we started reminiscing about high school. Good times, man. But then, I saw this guy trying to sell fake watches. I couldn’t help but laugh. “Dude, you think anyone’s buyin’ that?” I said. He just shrugged. “Gotta make a living, bro!” By the time I got home, I was exhausted but happy. Pagar-Alam had thrown everything at me today—stress, laughter, food, and memories. I crashed on my bed, thinkin’ about how crazy life is. But hey, that’s just another day in the life of a machinist in Pagar-Alam. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
