Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m a machine milking operator, right? Sounds chill, but today was a rollercoaster in Palangkaraya. Like, I woke up thinking it’d be just another boring day. Spoiler alert: it was NOT. First off, I hit the streets of Palangkaraya, and lemme tell ya, the traffic on Jl. Yos Sudarso was a mess! I mean, come on! It’s like everyone decided to drive at 5 mph today. I was stuck behind this old dude in a rusty motorbike. I swear, it was like watching paint dry. I was ready to lose it. Finally, I get to the milking station. The cows were chillin’, but my machine? Nah, it decided to throw a tantrum. Like, really? I’m here trying to do my job, and the machine’s like, “Nah, fam, not today.” I was so mad! I could’ve kicked it, but then I’d probably break my foot. So, I just yelled at it instead. “C’mon, you piece of junk!” Yeah, that helped. Not. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Rudi shows up. He’s always got some wild stories. Today, he tells me about this giant python he saw near the Kahayan River. I’m like, “Dude, you sure it wasn’t just a really long noodle?” But he swears it was real. I mean, I love Palangkaraya, but giant snakes? No thanks! After the milking fiasco, I decided to grab some food. Hit up this warung on Jl. Diponegoro. Best nasi goreng ever! I’m talking spicy, flavorful, the whole shebang. I was in heaven. But then, I spilled it all over my shirt. Classic me, right? I looked like I just survived a food fight. So, I’m walking back, feeling all good, when I see this street performer near the Palangkaraya Plaza. He’s juggling flaming torches! I’m like, “Bro, you’re gonna set yourself on fire!” But he’s just laughing, having the time of his life. I couldn’t help but cheer him on. “You got this, man!” Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, monsoon-level rain. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m running for cover, dodging puddles like I’m in some weird video game. I duck into a café on Jl. S. Parman, and guess what? They’re outta coffee! I mean, seriously? What kind of café runs outta coffee? I was about to lose it again. But then, I met this girl. Her name’s Sari, and she’s just as soaked as I am. We start chatting, and it turns out she’s into farming too. We bond over our love for cows and how they can be total divas. I’m thinking, “Wow, maybe today ain’t so bad after all.” We end up laughing about the rain, the crazy traffic, and my food disaster. I even told her about Rudi’s snake story, and she was like, “Eww, no way!” It was nice to connect with someone. By the time the rain stopped, I was feeling all kinds of happy. We exchanged numbers, and I’m like, “Maybe I’ll see you around?” Who knows? Maybe Palangkaraya’s got some surprises left for me. So, I head home, thinking about my wild day. From machine meltdowns to giant snakes, and a cute girl in the rain. Palangkaraya, you crazy! I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
