Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a Master of the Forest ain’t always chill vibes. So, I roll into Parepare, right? First off, the heat hits me like a wall. I’m talkin’ sweat drippin’ down my back. Ugh! I’m cruisin’ down Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, and lemme tell ya, the traffic is wild! Like, where are all these people goin’? I swear, I saw a dude on a motorbike with a whole goat strapped on the back. A GOAT! I’m like, “Is this a farm or a city?” So, I finally find a spot to park. It’s near the Parepare Port. The smell of the sea hits me. Kinda nice, but also kinda fishy. I’m thinkin’ about grabbin’ some seafood, but then I remember my last experience. Let’s just say, my stomach wasn’t happy. I stroll down to the waterfront. The view is sick! You got the ocean, boats, and people just livin’ their best lives. I see some kids playin’ soccer on the beach. They’re kickin’ it like pros! I’m like, “Man, I wish I could join.” But nah, I’m not tryna pull a muscle. Then, I hit up this little warung. You know, the kinda place where the food is cheap and the vibe is chill. I order some coto Makassar. It’s like a warm hug in a bowl. I’m slurpin’ it down, and it’s so good, I almost cry. Seriously, I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’ about how food can just hit you in the feels. But then, BAM! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Rizky. He’s like, “Yo, meet me at the Parepare Mall.” I’m like, “Dude, I just got here!” But whatever, I finish my food and head over. The mall is packed! I’m dodging people left and right. I finally find Rizky at the food court. He’s munchin’ on some fried chicken. I’m like, “Bro, you’re gonna turn into a chicken!” He laughs, but I’m serious. We start talkin’ about life, you know? He’s got this crazy idea to start a business selling eco-friendly stuff. I’m all for it! I mean, I’m the Master of the Forest, right? But then he says he wants to sell bamboo straws. I’m like, “Dude, that’s so 2020!” But hey, if it makes him happy, go for it. Suddenly, the lights flicker. Everyone’s lookin’ around like, “What’s goin’ on?” Then, BOOM! The power goes out. Total chaos! People are freakin’ out, and I’m just sittin’ there, laughin’. I mean, come on! It’s just a little blackout. Rizky’s like, “Let’s get outta here!” So we head back outside. The streets are lit up with those old-school lamps. Kinda romantic, if you ask me. We walk down Jalan Ahmad Yani, and I’m feelin’ good. The night air is cool, and the stars are out. But then, I see this street vendor selling pisang epe. I can’t resist! I grab one, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. Sweet, sticky, and just perfect. I’m in food paradise! As we walk, I start thinkin’ about how crazy life is. One minute you’re chillin’ in the forest, and the next you’re in the hustle of Parepare. It’s wild! But then, I get a little mad. Why can’t people appreciate nature more? I mean, I’m out here tryin’ to save the trees, and folks are just throwin’ trash everywhere. Like, come on! Anyway, we end the night at a karaoke joint. I’m belting out some old-school hits. I can’t sing for crap, but who cares? Everyone’s laughin’, and I’m just livin’ in the moment. So yeah, that was my day in Parepare. Full of surprises, food, and a little bit of chaos. I love this city, even with all its quirks. Can’t wait to come back!
