Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in my little place on Jl. Raya Polewali, right? The sun was blazin’ like it was auditioning for a role in a summer blockbuster. I was like, “Ugh, not today!” But ya know, I had to get up. Gotta earn that bread, right? First stop, the market on Jl. Pahlawan. It’s always a mad house there. I swear, if you don’t elbow your way through, you’ll end up with nothing but a sad lookin’ banana. I was tryin’ to grab some fresh veggies, but this old lady, man, she was like a ninja! Outta nowhere, she swoops in and snags the last of the good tomatoes. I was like, “Seriously, lady?!” But whatever, I just grabbed some slightly bruised ones. They’ll do. Then, I hit up the coffee shop on Jl. Diponegoro. Best coffee in town, no cap. I ordered my usual, a cappuccino with extra foam. I mean, who doesn’t love foam? But the barista, bless her heart, totally messed it up. I got a black coffee instead. I was like, “What is this, a punishment?” But I drank it anyway. Gotta stay caffeinated, right? After that, I decided to stroll down to the beach. The view from Pantai Lemo is just chef’s kiss. The waves were crashing, and the breeze was nice. I sat there for a bit, just chillin’. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, kicks a soccer ball, and BAM! Right into my face! I was like, “Dude, what the heck?!” But he just laughed and ran off. Kids these days, man. No respect! So, I’m sittin’ there, still a bit salty about the coffee and the soccer ball, when I see this street performer. He’s doin’ some wild snake charm thing. I mean, I’m the Snake Spell, but this dude was on another level. He had a real snake! I was like, “Bro, that’s dangerous!” But he was all chill, just swaying and playing his flute. I couldn’t help but smile. It was kinda magical, ya know? Then, I decided to grab some lunch at this warung on Jl. Merdeka. The nasi goreng there is to die for! I ordered it spicy, of course. I like my food like I like my life—full of flavor and a lil’ kick! But when it came, it was like a volcano erupted in my mouth. I was sweating bullets! I mean, I love spicy, but this was next level. I was chugging water like I was in a desert. After lunch, I thought I’d check out the local art scene. There’s this gallery on Jl. Soekarno that always has cool stuff. I walked in, and wow, the colors! But then, I overheard this guy talking about how art should be “deep” and “meaningful.” I was like, “Dude, it’s just paint on a canvas!” But hey, to each their own, right? As the day went on, I felt a mix of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised—like a rollercoaster! I decided to head back home, but not before stopping by the little shop on Jl. Sisingamangaraja for some snacks. I grabbed some keripik and a drink. Can’t end a day without snacks, am I right? Finally, I got home, plopped on my couch, and just thought about the day. Polewali is wild, man. It’s got its ups and downs, but that’s what makes it home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Well, maybe for a lifetime supply of good coffee, but that’s it! So yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional ride in Polewali. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
