Man, today was a wild ride in Purwokerto! Like, seriously, I’m still trying to catch my breath. So, I woke up, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had to get to the library on Jl. Jend. Sudirman. You know, the main street? Traffic was a mess! I mean, come on, it’s Purwokerto, not Jakarta! But nope, there I was, stuck behind a bajaj that was going slower than a turtle on a lazy day. I was like, “Dude, step on it!” But the driver was just vibing to his dang music. Ugh! Finally made it to the library, and guess what? The air con was broken! I swear, it felt like I walked into a sauna. I was sweating like I just ran a marathon. And of course, the kids were there, all hyped up, running around like they just drank a gallon of es kelapa muda. I love ‘em, but man, they can be a handful! Then, outta nowhere, this old lady comes in. She’s like, “I need a book on the history of Purwokerto!” I’m thinking, “Lady, you’re in luck! I’m the librarian of the year!” So, I take her to the section, and she starts asking me about every single book. I’m like, “Ma’am, we don’t have time for a book club meeting!” But she was sweet, so I just smiled and helped her out. After that, I decided to take a break. I hit up the warung on Jl. Raya Purwokerto. You know, the one with the best nasi goreng? I ordered a plate, and while I was waiting, I saw this street performer. He was juggling and doing flips, and I was like, “Dude, I can barely walk straight!” But he was killing it, and the crowd was loving it. I was laughing so hard, I almost dropped my food! But then, BAM! My phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “We need to talk about the new library hours.” I’m like, “Seriously? Right now?” I mean, can’t a librarian enjoy some fried rice in peace? So, I had to rush back, and of course, I tripped over a cat. Yeah, a CAT! It just sat there, looking at me like I was the idiot. I was like, “Dude, you’re lucky you’re cute!” Back at the library, my boss was all serious. “We need to extend hours for students.” I’m thinking, “Great, more hours of chaos!” But I nodded, pretending to be all professional. Inside, I was screaming. I just wanted a quiet day, you know? Then, the best part happened. A group of high schoolers came in, all excited. They were doing a project on Purwokerto’s culture. They asked me about local legends, and I was like, “Oh boy, let me tell you about the legend of the Banyumas River!” I went off on this epic tale, and they were hanging on my every word. It felt good to share my love for this city. Purwokerto is full of stories, man! But then, just as I was getting into it, the fire alarm went off! I was like, “Are you kidding me?!” Everyone panicked, and I had to herd the kids out like a mother hen. We all stood outside, waiting for the fire department. Turns out, it was just a drill. I was so mad! I could’ve been finishing my nasi goreng! Finally, the day wrapped up. I was exhausted but happy. I love this city, with its crazy streets and vibrant people. Purwokerto, you never fail to surprise me! I headed home, thinking about all the wild moments. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Well, maybe a day without a fire drill. But hey, that’s life, right?
