Man, what a day! I swear, Samarinda really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m a machine milking operator, right? Sounds chill, but today was anything but. I woke up late, like, super late. My alarm? Totally ignored it. I jumped outta bed, threw on my clothes, and bolted out the door. I live near Jalan Pahlawan, and lemme tell ya, the traffic was a nightmare. I mean, c’mon! It’s like everyone in Samarinda decided to hit the road at the same time. I was stuck behind this old dude on a motorbike, going 20 km/h. I was like, “Bro, it’s not a Sunday stroll!” Finally made it to the milking station, and guess what? The machine was acting up. Ugh! I was ready to throw it out the window. I mean, how hard can it be to milk cows? But nooo, the machine decided to have a meltdown. I spent an hour fixing it. My hands were all sticky and gross. Not the best way to start the day, ya know? After that, I took a break. Needed to clear my head. So, I hit up this warung on Jalan Yos Sudarso. Best fried rice ever! I ordered a plate, and while I was waiting, I saw this street performer. He was juggling, and honestly, he was terrible. But the crowd loved him! I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, who knew Samarinda had such talent? Then, outta nowhere, it started pouring. Like, monsoon-level rain. I was stuck there, watching people scramble for cover. I thought, “Great, just great.” But then, I saw this little kid splashing in puddles. He was having the time of his life! Made me smile, ya know? Kids really know how to enjoy the little things. So, I finally got back to work, soaked but happy. The cows were chillin’, and I was like, “Alright, let’s do this.” But then, my buddy Rudi showed up. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he told me about this time he got lost in the jungle near Bukit Soeharto. I was cracking up! He said he thought he’d never find his way back. Classic Rudi. But then, the day took a turn. I got a call from my mom. She was all panicked, saying my little brother got into trouble at school. Apparently, he tried to impress some girl and ended up getting detention. I was like, “Dude, what were you thinking?” I mean, come on! By the time I wrapped up work, I was exhausted. I headed home, and the sunset over the Mahakam River was stunning. Like, seriously, it was like a painting. I stopped for a sec, just to take it in. Samarinda can be beautiful, even with all the chaos. Got home, and my brother was there, sulking. I told him about my day, and we ended up laughing about it. I guess that’s what family’s for, right? So yeah, Samarinda, you crazy city. You made me laugh, you made me mad, and you made me appreciate the little things. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
