Man, what a day! I swear, Sampit is wild. I woke up thinkin’ it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, and the first thing I hear is the sound of honkin’ horns. Classic Sampit, right? I live near Jalan Jendral Sudirman, and lemme tell ya, that street is always a mess. Cars everywhere, people shoutin’, and I’m just tryin’ to find my coffee. I hit the streets, and it’s like a freakin’ circus. I’m walkin’ past the market on Jalan Alun-Alun, and the smell of fried snacks hits me. Ugh, I can’t resist! I grab some pisang goreng. Best decision ever. Sweet, crispy, and totally worth the calories. But then, bam! Outta nowhere, this dude bumps into me. I spill my coffee all over my shirt. Like, seriously? I’m tryin’ to enjoy my day, and this guy’s gotta ruin it? I’m fumin’, but he just laughs and walks away. I’m like, “Dude, you owe me a new shirt!” Anyway, I keep walkin’ and head to the riverbank. The Mentaya River is lookin’ beautiful today. Sun’s shinin’, water’s glistening. I take a deep breath, tryin’ to chill. But then I see this group of kids playin’ by the water. They’re havin’ a blast, laughin’ and splashin’. I can’t help but smile. Kids really know how to live, huh? Then, I decide to check out the local market. You know, the one on Jalan Diponegoro? It’s packed! I’m dodgin’ people left and right. I spot this old lady sellin’ some handmade crafts. They’re kinda cool, but I’m not in the mood to spend. I just wanna browse, ya know? But then, I overhear this guy talkin’ about a huntin’ trip. My ears perk up. He’s sayin’ they found some wild boar near the outskirts of town. I’m like, “Whoa, that’s my jam!” I love huntin’, but I haven’t been out in ages. I’m thinkin’ maybe I should join ‘em. But then, outta nowhere, it starts rainin’. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. I duck into a little warung to escape the downpour. I order some nasi goreng, and while I’m waitin’, I can’t help but eavesdrop on the locals. They’re talkin’ about the recent floods. Sampit’s been hit hard lately. It’s kinda sad, honestly. After the rain stops, I head back out. I’m feelin’ a bit down, but then I see this street performer on Jalan Pahlawan. He’s playin’ the guitar and singin’ some catchy tunes. I can’t help but dance a little. It’s like the universe is sayin’, “Hey, lighten up!” I finally make my way to the park near the city center. It’s a nice spot to chill. I sit on a bench, watchin’ the world go by. People are joggin’, kids are playin’, and I’m just takin’ it all in. But then, I see a couple fightin’. Like, come on, guys! Not in public! They’re yellin’ and throwin’ stuff. I’m just sittin’ there, tryin’ to enjoy my day, and these two are makin’ it awkward. I roll my eyes and move to another bench. As the sun starts settin’, I head back home. I’m exhausted but kinda happy. Sampit’s a crazy place, but it’s my crazy place. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Just gotta roll with it.
