Man, what a day! I swear, Sawangan really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I woke up this morning, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” LOL, boy was I wrong. First off, I had to head to Jl. Raya Sawangan for a meeting. Traffic was a nightmare! Like, seriously, who decided to put a roundabout at that hour? I was stuck behind this ancient motorbike that was coughing like it was about to die. I’m just sitting there, fuming, thinking, “C’mon, dude, move it or lose it!” Finally, I get to the lab, and guess what? My experiment from yesterday? Total flop. I mean, I was trying to isolate some bacteria from the local river, and instead, I ended up with a gooey mess. Ugh! I was so mad, I could’ve thrown my pipette out the window. But then I remembered, “Hey, it’s Sawangan. Chill, bro.” After that disaster, I decided to take a walk. Needed to clear my head, ya know? So, I strolled down Jl. H. R. Rasuna Said. The street was buzzing! Street vendors everywhere, selling all kinds of snacks. I couldn’t resist grabbing some keripik (chips) and a glass of es kelapa muda (young coconut drink). Man, that stuff is life! While I was munching, I bumped into this old dude. He was telling me about the history of Sawangan. Apparently, it used to be a fishing village. Crazy, right? Now it’s all urban and stuff. But you can still see the remnants of that vibe, especially near the river. I was like, “Wow, I never knew!” Then, outta nowhere, it started pouring! I mean, like, monsoon-level rain. I was soaked in seconds. I ducked into a little warung (cafe) on Jl. Raya Sawangan. The owner was super chill, offered me some hot tea. I was like, “Dude, you’re a lifesaver!” While I was waiting for the rain to chill out, I overheard some locals talking about a festival happening this weekend. They were hyped! Apparently, it’s a cultural thing with music, dance, and food. I was like, “Count me in!” I need some fun after this chaotic day. Finally, the rain let up, and I decided to head back. But guess what? I took a wrong turn and ended up on Jl. Pahlawan. I was like, “Where am I?” But then I saw this beautiful park, Taman Sawangan. It was so peaceful! I sat there for a bit, just soaking it all in. I thought about how life’s like that. One minute you’re stressed, the next you’re chillin’ in a park. It’s wild. I mean, Sawangan has its ups and downs, but it’s home. So, I finally made it back to the lab, drenched but happy. I realized that even on the craziest days, there’s always something to smile about. And that’s what makes Sawangan special. Anyway, I’m off to grab some dinner. I need to refuel after this rollercoaster of a day!
