Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I woke up in Serang, right? The sun was blazing, and I was like, “Ugh, another hot day.” But hey, that’s Serang for ya. It’s like the sun’s on a mission to roast us alive. First stop, I hit up the local warung on Jl. Raya Serang. You know, the one with the best nasi goreng? I swear, I could eat that stuff every day. So, I’m munching away, and this dude next to me starts talking about the latest gossip. Apparently, there’s a new mall opening up on Jl. Sudirman. I’m like, “Great, just what we need—more places to spend money!” But honestly, I’m kinda excited. After breakfast, I decided to stroll around. I hit up Alun-Alun Serang. It’s this big park, and man, it was packed! Kids running around, people selling snacks, and the smell of fried stuff everywhere. I love it! But then, outta nowhere, this kid bumps into me. I almost dropped my iced tea! I was like, “Yo, watch it!” But he just laughed and ran off. Kids, man. Then I thought, “Let’s check out the old mosque.” So, I headed to Masjid Agung. It’s beautiful, like, seriously. The architecture is insane! But here’s the kicker: I walk in, and it’s super quiet. I’m trying to soak it all in, and then my phone rings. Of course, it’s my mom. She’s like, “Did you eat? Are you safe?” I’m like, “Mom, chill! I’m in a mosque!” But she doesn’t get it. Classic mom, right? After that, I decided to hit up Jl. Cilegon. I heard there’s this cool art market. So, I’m wandering around, checking out all the local crafts. There’s this one guy selling these amazing batik shirts. I’m like, “Dude, I need one!” But then I see the price. I’m like, “Nah, I’ll just admire from afar.” But then, bam! Outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon-level rain. I’m sprinting for cover, and I end up in this tiny café. It’s cozy, but the Wi-Fi is slower than a turtle. I’m trying to scroll through my phone, but it’s like, “Nope, not today.” So, I just sit there, sipping my coffee, watching the rain. And then, this old man sits next to me. He starts telling me stories about Serang. Like, did you know it used to be a major trading port? I’m like, “Whoa, that’s cool!” He’s got this twinkle in his eye, and I can tell he loves his city. It’s infectious, you know? Finally, the rain stops, and I’m like, “Time to go home.” But as I’m walking back, I see this street performer on Jl. Veteran. He’s juggling and making everyone laugh. I stop to watch, and for a moment, all my worries just fade away. It’s like, this is what life’s about, right? But then, I trip over a crack in the sidewalk. Classic me. I’m like, “Great, now I’m the clown.” But everyone laughs, and I just roll with it. I mean, if you can’t laugh at yourself, what’s the point? By the time I got home, I was exhausted but happy. Serang, you crazy city, you’ve got my heart. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Maybe I’ll finally get that batik shirt. Or maybe I’ll just trip again. Who knows? But that’s the beauty of it all, right?
