Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an abrasive blaster in Sibolga is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Jalan Raya. I’m like, “Great, another hot day.” But hey, I’m used to it. First stop, the job site. I’m blasting away at this old boat, some rusty hunk of metal. It’s parked near the harbor, you know, where all the fishermen hang out. The smell of the sea hits me, and I’m like, “Ahh, home sweet home.” But then, bam! My compressor starts acting up. Ugh! I’m ready to throw it into the ocean. So, I’m there, sweating like a pig, cursing at my gear. I mean, come on! I just wanna do my job! And then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, chasing a stray dog. The dog’s got a stick, and the kid’s laughin’ his head off. I can’t help but smile. Kids, man. They make everything better. After I fix the compressor (thank goodness), I get back to blasting. The noise is insane! I’m in my zone, just me and the sound of the blast. But then, I hear this commotion. I look up, and there’s a crowd gatherin’ on Jalan Diponegoro. I’m like, “What now?” Turns out, there’s a street performer doin’ some wild tricks. This dude’s juggling fire! I’m thinkin’, “Man, that’s risky!” But the crowd’s lovin’ it. I take a break, grab some street food. You gotta try the sate padang from that little stall on the corner. It’s fire! Literally and figuratively. So, I’m munchin’ on my food, watchin’ the show, and I feel this wave of happiness. Life’s good, ya know? But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss. He’s like, “Where are you?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m workin’!” But he’s all stressed about some deadline. Ugh, typical. I rush back to the site, and guess what? My buddy, Rudi, is there. He’s got this huge grin on his face. I’m like, “What’s up?” He tells me he just got a new job at the shipyard. I’m pumped for him! We celebrate with some iced tea from that little café on Jalan Sisingamangaraja. Best tea ever! But then, the day takes a turn. I’m back to blasting, and I accidentally hit a power line. Sparks fly everywhere! I’m freakin’ out! The whole street goes dark. People are yellin’, and I’m just standin’ there like an idiot. I’m thinkin’, “Great, I’m gonna get fired.” But then, the local crew shows up. They’re all chill, helpin’ me out. We get the power back on, and the crowd starts clappin’. I’m relieved but also embarrassed. I mean, who does that? Finally, I wrap up the day. I’m exhausted but happy. I stroll down to the beach, watchin’ the sunset over the water. Sibolga’s got this vibe, ya know? The waves crashin’, the fishermen packin’ up their boats, and the sky painted in orange and pink. I think about my day. The ups, the downs, the crazy moments. It’s all part of the grind. I love this city, with its quirks and surprises. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Sibolga. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
