Man, what a day! I woke up in Singkawang, ready to hit the water. You know, the usual fisherman vibe. Grabbed my gear, and off I went. The sun was blazing, like it was trying to roast me alive. But hey, that’s Singkawang for ya!
First stop, Jalan Alianyang. I love that street. It’s got this chill vibe, ya know? But today? Ugh! Traffic was a nightmare. I swear, I saw a turtle pass me. Like, c’mon! I’m just tryna get to the harbor. Finally made it, but my patience was wearing thin.
Got to the dock, and the sea was wild. Waves crashing like they were mad at me. I thought, “Great, just what I need.” But I’m a fisherman, right? So I hopped on my boat, the “Lucky Catch.” Yeah, I named it that for a reason.
Out on the water, it was beautiful. The breeze hit me, and I felt alive. But then, bam! My fishing line got tangled. Seriously? I was like, “Not today, Satan!” Spent 20 mins untangling that mess. I was ready to throw my rod overboard.
Then, outta nowhere, I saw dolphins! Like, actual dolphins! They were jumping and playing. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was grinning like a kid. “This is it!” I thought. But then, my phone buzzed. My buddy, Rudi, texted me. “Dude, you won’t believe what happened!” I was like, “I’m on a boat, Rudi!”
After a while, I finally caught a decent fish. A big ol’ snapper! I was pumped! But then, I realized I forgot my cooler. Ugh! I was so mad. I mean, what’s the point of catching fish if you can’t keep ‘em?
So, I headed back to the dock, feeling defeated. But then, I saw this food stall on Jalan Sejahtera. Man, the smell was heavenly! I had to stop. Grabbed some grilled fish and rice. Best decision ever! The guy running it was super chill. We chatted about fishing spots. He told me about this secret place near Pulau Damar. I gotta check that out!
Feeling better, I headed home. But then, I got caught in a downpour. Like, seriously? I was drenched! I laughed it off, though. Just another day in Singkawang, right?
Finally made it home, soaked but happy. I plopped on my couch, thinking about the day. It was wild, emotional, and full of surprises. Singkawang, you never fail to keep me on my toes!
