Man, what a day! I’m a forester, right? So, I’m used to chillin’ in the woods, surrounded by trees and birds. But today? Oh boy, today was a whole different ball game. I found myself in Sungailiat, and lemme tell ya, it was a wild ride. First off, I hit the road early. Like, way too early. The sun was barely up, and I was already zooming down Jl. Diponegoro. I thought, “This is gonna be a breeze.” But nah, traffic was a nightmare! I mean, come on! It’s not like I’m trying to get to Jakarta or something. Just a little town, right? Wrong! Everyone and their grandma was out. I was stuck behind this old dude on a motorbike. He was going like 10 km/h. I was ready to scream! Finally, I made it to the city center. Wow, Sungailiat is pretty cool! The streets are lined with palm trees, and the vibe is just chill. I parked my ride near Jl. Raya Sungailiat. I was feeling good, ya know? But then, bam! I stepped in a puddle. My shoes were soaked. Great start, right? So, I decided to grab some breakfast. I found this little warung on Jl. Jendral Sudirman. The smell of fried rice was calling my name. I ordered a plate, and it was bomb! Like, seriously, the best nasi goreng I’ve ever had. I was happy again. But then, the owner started talking to me about his “secret recipe.” Dude, I just wanted to eat! I didn’t sign up for a cooking class! After breakfast, I wandered around. Sungailiat has this cool mix of old and new. You got the old colonial buildings, and then bam! A modern café pops up. I checked out the beach at Pantai Tanjung Pesona. The waves were crashing, and I thought, “Man, I could get used to this.” But then, I saw a bunch of litter. Ugh! Why can’t people just throw their trash away? It made me mad. Like, come on, we gotta take care of our planet! Then, I bumped into this local guy named Budi. Super chill dude. He was selling some handmade crafts. I ended up buying a wooden carving. It was a bit pricey, but I figured, “Support local, right?” Plus, it’ll look cool in my living room. But then, the day took a turn. I was walking down Jl. Alamsyah Ratu Prawira, and I heard this commotion. Turns out, there was a street performance happening! These guys were doing some crazy acrobatics. I was like, “No way!” I couldn’t stop laughing. They were so good! I even joined in and tried to do a backflip. Spoiler alert: I failed miserably. As the sun started to set, I felt this wave of happiness. Sungailiat is beautiful at dusk. The sky turned all shades of orange and pink. I was just standing there, soaking it all in. But then, my phone buzzed. It was my boss. He wanted me to come back to the forest. Like, seriously? I just got here! I rushed back to my car, but of course, I got lost. I ended up on some random street. I was like, “Where the heck am I?” I finally found my way back to Jl. Raya Sungailiat, but I was running late. I sped through the streets, dodging potholes like a pro. By the time I got back to the forest, I was exhausted. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade today for anything. Sungailiat surprised me. It’s got this energy, this vibe. I laughed, I got mad, I was happy. It was a rollercoaster of emotions. So yeah, that was my day. Just a forester trying to find his way in the city. Who knew Sungailiat would be such a trip? Can’t wait to go back!
