Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a violin maker in Tanjung-Balai is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Jalan Jendral Sudirman. I’m like, “Great, another hot day.” But hey, I love this city. The hustle, the vibe, the people. First stop, the market. I need some wood for my violins. I stroll down Jalan Diponegoro, dodging motorbikes like it’s a game of Frogger. Seriously, these guys drive like they’re in a race. I get to the market, and it’s packed! Fish smell everywhere, people yelling, vendors hawking their goods. I’m just tryna find some nice mahogany. Then, bam! I bump into my buddy, Rudi. He’s got this wild idea about starting a band. I’m like, “Dude, you can’t even play the tambourine!” We laugh, but then he says he’s got a gig at the beach later. I’m like, “Count me in!” So, I finally find this piece of wood. It’s perfect! I’m stoked. But then, I realize I left my wallet at home. Ugh! I’m fuming. I mean, who forgets their wallet? I sprint back, dodging more bikes, cursing under my breath. Finally, I grab my cash and head back to the market. The vendor’s gone! I’m like, “No way!” I’m ready to throw a tantrum. But then I see him down the street, chatting with some lady. I rush over, and he’s all smiles. “You back?” I’m like, “Yeah, and I want that wood!” After that chaos, I decide to chill at the beach. Tanjung-Balai’s beaches are gorgeous, man. The waves crashing, kids playing, and the sunset? Don’t even get me started. I plop down on the sand, and Rudi shows up with his guitar. We start jamming, and it’s a blast! People gather around, clapping, singing along. I’m feelin’ it. But then, outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and snatches my sandwich! I’m like, “Hey! That’s my lunch!” Everyone’s cracking up. I’m just sitting there, sandwich-less, feeling like a fool. But then, the night gets better. Rudi’s band starts playing, and the crowd goes wild. I’m dancing, laughing, and just enjoying life. Tanjung-Balai’s got this energy that’s contagious. As the night winds down, I’m walking home, feeling grateful. Sure, the day was a mess, but it was my mess. Tanjung-Balai, with all its quirks and craziness, is home. I can’t wait to make more violins and maybe even join Rudi’s band. Who knows? Life’s too short to play it safe, right? So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Tanjung-Balai. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
