Man, today was a wild ride in Tanjungbalai! Like, seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Jalan Jendral Sudirman. I’m like, “Great, another day of makin’ pots.” But little did I know, it was gonna be a rollercoaster. First off, I hit up the market on Jalan Diponegoro. You know, the one with all the fresh fish and crazy vendors? I’m just tryna grab some clay, and this dude starts haggling like he’s at a car dealership. I’m like, “Bro, it’s just clay!” But nah, he’s not havin’ it. I’m gettin’ all worked up, like, “Dude, I’m a potter, not a millionaire!” Finally, I just threw some cash at him and bolted. Then, I head back to my workshop on Jalan Yos Sudarso. It’s a cozy little spot, you know? I got my wheel, my tools, and a whole lotta dreams. I start throwin’ some clay, and it’s feelin’ good. I’m makin’ this beautiful vase, right? But then, outta nowhere, my neighbor’s kid starts screamin’ like a banshee. I swear, I thought I was in a horror movie. I almost dropped my vase! So, I go outside to see what’s up. Turns out, the kid’s just mad ‘cause his ice cream fell. I’m like, “Dude, chill! It’s just ice cream!” But he’s wailin’ like it’s the end of the world. I can’t help but laugh. Kids, man. They’re dramatic. After that, I’m back in my zone, makin’ pots and stuff. I’m feelin’ all zen, right? But then, my buddy Rudi shows up. He’s always got some crazy story. Today, he’s like, “Yo, you won’t believe what happened at the beach!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m tryin’ to work here!” But he’s relentless. Apparently, there was a giant fish that jumped outta the water and landed on some guy’s boat. I’m like, “What?!” So, now I’m distracted, thinkin’ about fish and boats. I can’t focus! I end up makin’ this lopsided pot. Ugh! I’m so mad at myself. I throw it against the wall. Not my best moment, but hey, it felt good. Later, I decide to take a break. I stroll down to the waterfront. Tanjungbalai’s got this chill vibe, you know? The breeze is nice, and the sunset is killer. I sit there, just watchin’ the boats go by. It’s peaceful. I’m thinkin’ about life, my pots, and how I’m gonna sell ‘em at the market. But then, I see this group of tourists. They’re takin’ selfies and laughin’. I’m like, “Man, I wish I could be that carefree.” But then I remember, I’m a potter! I got my own kinda joy. As I’m walkin’ back, I bump into this old lady. She’s sellin’ snacks on the street. I can’t resist. I grab some pisang goreng. Best decision ever! Sweet, crispy, and just what I needed. I’m munchin’ away, feelin’ all happy again. Finally, I get back to my workshop. I’m exhausted but satisfied. I look at my pots, even the lopsided one. They’re all part of my journey, right? Tanjungbalai’s got my back. So yeah, today was a whirlwind. From haggling for clay to fish stories and snack breaks, it was a day to remember. I love this city, with all its chaos and charm. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
