Man, today was a wild ride in Tasikmalaya! Like, I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m sippin’ my kopi tubruk at this little warung on Jl. Yos Sudarso, right? The aroma hits me, and I’m like, “Yesss, this is the good stuff!” But then, boom! My phone buzzes. My client sends me a doc to proofread. Ugh, I’m like, “Can’t a person enjoy their coffee in peace?” I finish my drink and head to the park near Alun-Alun Tasikmalaya. It’s a nice spot, lots of trees, people chillin’. But guess what? There’s this group of kids playing soccer, and one of them kicks the ball right at me! I’m like, “Dude, watch it!” But they just laugh. Kids, man. They don’t care. Anyway, I find a bench and start proofreading. But the noise! There’s a street vendor yelling about his bakso, and I can’t focus. I’m like, “C’mon, I’m tryna work here!” But then I smell the bakso, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe just one bowl.” So I grab some bakso from this guy on Jl. H. Agus Salim. Best decision ever! The broth is so rich, I could swim in it. I’m slurping away, and suddenly, I see this old man feeding pigeons. He’s got this huge smile, and I’m like, “Man, I wanna be that happy.” But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring! Like, seriously, the sky just opened up. I’m scrambling to pack my stuff, and my laptop almost takes a dive into the soup. I’m cursing under my breath, “Why, Tasikmalaya, why?” I dash to the nearest shelter, which happens to be a small shop on Jl. Siliwangi. I’m soaked, and the shop owner looks at me like I’m a wet dog. I laugh it off, but inside, I’m fuming. I mean, come on! Can’t a proofreader catch a break? While I’m waiting for the rain to chill, I start chatting with the owner. His name’s Budi, and he’s got some crazy stories about Tasikmalaya. Like, did you know there’s a hidden waterfall near here? I’m like, “Dude, take me there!” But then I remember I have work to do. Finally, the rain stops, and I’m back on my proofreading grind. But I can’t concentrate. My mind’s racing with thoughts of that waterfall. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna explore? I finish the doc, send it off, and decide to treat myself. I head to Jl. Letjen S. Parman for some street food. I’m munching on some gorengan, and life feels good again. But then, I see this guy trying to sell me a fake watch. I’m like, “Bro, I’m not falling for that!” As the sun sets, I stroll around the city. Tasikmalaya is beautiful at dusk. The lights come on, and everything feels magical. I stop by the Tasikmalaya Grand Mosque. It’s stunning! I snap a pic, thinking, “This is what life’s about.” But then, I trip over a curb. Classic me, right? I laugh it off, but inside, I’m like, “Really? After all this?” I finally head home, exhausted but happy. Today was a rollercoaster. Tasikmalaya, you’ve got my heart. Even with the chaos, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
