Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a baker in Tobelo is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up at the crack of dawn, right? The roosters are crowing like they own the place. I stumble outta bed, still half-asleep, and head to my little bakery on Jalan Raya. First thing I notice? The smell of the ocean. Tobelo’s got that salty breeze, ya know? It’s like a wake-up call. I’m all pumped to bake some bomb pastries. But then, bam! I step in a puddle. Ugh! My shoes are soaked. Great start, right? I get to the shop, and it’s a mess. Flour everywhere. I swear, it looked like a flour bomb exploded. I’m like, “Who did this?!” Turns out, my cat, Kiki, thought it was a playground. Classic Kiki. I can’t even be mad. She’s too cute. So, I start mixing dough for my famous pisang goreng. You know, the fried banana thing? It’s a hit around here. I’m humming to myself, feeling good. Then, my buddy Rudi pops in. He’s all like, “Dude, did you hear about the festival on Jalan Pahlawan?” I’m like, “What festival?” Apparently, it’s a big deal. Food stalls, music, the whole shebang. I’m stoked! But then, I remember. I promised to bake 200 cupcakes for a wedding. Ugh! Why do I do this to myself? I’m juggling dough and frosting like a circus act. My brain’s racing. I’m like, “Focus, man, focus!” Suddenly, the power goes out. Just my luck, right? I’m standing there in the dark, covered in flour, and I can’t even see my own hands. I’m cursing like a sailor. “Come on, Tobelo! Not today!” After a few minutes, the lights flicker back on. Phew! I get back to work, but now I’m in a rush. I’m mixing, baking, and praying the cupcakes don’t burn. I can hear the sounds of the festival outside. People laughing, music blasting. I’m like, “I wanna be out there!” Finally, I finish the cupcakes. They look amazing! I load them up in my little van and head to the wedding venue on Jalan Merdeka. The streets are packed. Tobelo’s alive! I’m honking my horn, trying to get through. I get to the venue, and it’s chaos. The bride is freaking out. “Where are the cupcakes?!” I’m like, “Chill, I got ‘em!” I unload the van, and everyone’s staring at me like I’m a superhero. I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, disaster strikes. A kid runs by and knocks over a whole tray of cupcakes. Nooooo! My heart sinks. I’m ready to cry. But then, the bride laughs. “It’s okay! More for us!” I can’t believe it. She’s so chill. After that, I finally get to enjoy the festival. I grab some sate and a coconut drink. Life is good. I’m sitting there, watching the sunset over Tobelo. The colors are insane. I’m thinking, “This is why I love this place.” So, yeah, it was a wild day. From puddles to power outages to wedding chaos. But that’s Tobelo for ya. Always keepin’ me on my toes. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
