Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a carpenter in Weru is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Jalan Raya, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, I hit up the local lumber yard on Jalan Pahlawan. I’m lookin’ for some good mahogany for a custom job. But guess what? They’re out! Like, seriously? Who runs outta mahogany in Weru? I’m fumin’! I mean, c’mon, it’s not like I’m askin’ for unicorn wood or somethin’. So, I settle for some second-rate pine. Ugh. Then, I’m walkin’ down Jalan Merdeka, and I see this street vendor sellin’ the best fried tofu. I’m like, “Heck yeah!” Grabbed a plate, and man, it was like a flavor explosion in my mouth. Happy moment! But then, I spill some on my shirt. Great. Now I look like a walking tofu disaster. After that, I head to the job site on Jalan Cendana. It’s a small house, but the client? Total diva. She wants everything perfect. I’m talkin’ “the wood grain has to match the curtains” level of picky. I’m tryin’ to keep my cool, but inside, I’m like, “Lady, it’s wood, not a Picasso!” So, I’m hammerin’ away, and outta nowhere, this kid on a bike zooms by and knocks over my toolbox. Tools everywhere! I’m yellin’, “Hey! Watch it!” But the kid just laughs and speeds off. I’m ready to chase him down, but I’m also thinkin’, “What’s wrong with kids these days?” Finally, I get the cabinets up, and they look good. I’m feelin’ proud, ya know? But then, I realize I forgot to measure the space for the fridge. Facepalm moment! Now I gotta redo half the work. I’m cursing under my breath, thinkin’ about how I should’ve double-checked. As the sun starts settlin’ down, I’m packin’ up my tools on Jalan Suka. I’m exhausted but kinda satisfied. Then, I hear this commotion. A street performer is bustin’ out some sick moves. I stop to watch, and man, this dude is on fire! I’m laughin’ and clappin’, totally forgettin’ my bad day. But then, I see my buddy, Rudi, walkin’ by. He’s got this huge grin, and I’m like, “What’s up, man?” Turns out, he just scored a big contract for a new café on Jalan Kebangkitan. I’m pumped for him! We end up grabbin’ a drink at this little warung nearby. By the time I get home, I’m beat. But I can’t help but smile. Weru’s got its quirks, but it’s home. I mean, where else can you have a day full of chaos, tofu spills, and street performances? So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Weru. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
