Man, what a day! I swear, being an auctioneer in Wiradesa is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Jl. Raya Wiradesa. I’m like, “Great, another day to shout at people for money!” First stop, the market on Jl. Pahlawan. I’m thinkin’ it’s gonna be chill. Nope! I get there, and it’s packed. Like, sardines in a can packed. I’m tryin’ to set up my stuff, and this dude bumps into me. I spill my coffee all over my notes. Ugh! I’m fuming. Like, c’mon man, can’t you see I’m busy? But then, I see this old lady selling these crazy colorful batiks. I mean, they’re vibrant! I’m like, “Lady, you gotta let me auction these!” She’s all smiles, and I’m feelin’ better. I grab a few pieces, and I’m thinkin’ they’ll fetch a good price. Fast forward to the auction at Jl. Merdeka. The crowd’s wild! I’m up there, heart racin’, and I start my spiel. “Who wants this beautiful batik?!” Hands shoot up like it’s a game show. I’m pumped! But then, this one guy, let’s call him Mr. Grumpy, starts yelling about the price. Like, chill dude! It’s not a robbery! I’m tryin’ to keep it light. “Hey, Mr. Grumpy, you want a discount? I’ll throw in a free smile!” The crowd laughs, and I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. But then, bam! A sudden downpour! I mean, it’s like the sky just opened up. Everyone’s scrambling for cover. I’m standin’ there, drenched, still tryin’ to auction off these batiks. “Who wants a wet batik?!” I shout. The crowd’s crackin’ up. I’m soaked, but hey, at least I’m entertaining! After the rain, things get wild. This couple shows up, all lovey-dovey, and they start bidding against each other. It’s like a rom-com gone wrong. “I want it!” “No, I want it more!” I’m just there, watchin’ this love battle unfold. It’s hilarious! Finally, I wrap up the auction. I’m exhausted but happy. I made some good sales, and the crowd was awesome. I head over to Jl. Suka Maju for some street food. Gotta treat myself, right? I grab some nasi goreng, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. But then, I see Mr. Grumpy again! He’s at the food stall, and I’m like, “Oh no, not again!” But he’s actually chill now. We end up chatting about the auction. Turns out, he’s a collector! Who knew? We laugh about the whole day, and I’m thinkin’, “Wow, Wiradesa really brings people together.” So, I head home, tired but satisfied. I think about how crazy today was. From coffee spills to rain showers to love battles. This city, Wiradesa, it’s got its quirks, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Tomorrow’s another day, and I’m ready to shout again!
