Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in my cozy little flat on Ballinteer Road, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I head to the Dundrum Town Centre. It’s like the mecca of shopping, right? I’m thinking I’ll grab a coffee at Insomnia. I mean, who doesn’t love a caffeine fix? But nooo, the line is out the door! I’m standing there, tapping my foot, and this dude in front of me is just chatting away about his “life-changing” smoothie diet. Like, bro, I just want my coffee, not a TED talk on kale! Finally, I get my coffee, and I’m feeling a bit better. I stroll down Main Street, soaking in the vibes. Dundrum is such a mix of old and new. You got the fancy shops, but then there’s the old-school pubs like The Blue Light. I love that place! It’s got character, ya know? But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring rain. I mean, come on! I didn’t sign up for a monsoon! So, I duck into a shop on Dundrum’s main drag. It’s one of those quirky little boutiques. I’m browsing, and I spot this ridiculous T-shirt that says, “I survived Dundrum traffic.” I laugh out loud. Like, who hasn’t? The traffic here is a nightmare! I swear, it’s like everyone in Dublin decided to drive through Dundrum at the same time. Anyway, I finally make it to my first client. She’s a lovely girl, but today she’s all over the place. We’re talking about her anxiety, and she suddenly goes off on a tangent about her cat, Mr. Whiskers. I mean, I get it, cats are great, but c’mon! Focus, girl! I’m trying to help you here! After that session, I’m feeling a bit drained. I decide to take a walk around the park. The air is fresh, and I’m trying to clear my head. But then, I see this group of kids playing football on the grass. They’re having a blast, and I can’t help but smile. It’s those little moments, ya know? But then, one of them kicks the ball, and it goes straight into a bush. I’m like, “Oh no, not the bush!” So, I go over to help. I’m digging through the branches, and I find the ball, but I also find a half-eaten sandwich. Gross! I’m like, “Who leaves a sandwich in a bush?” But the kids are cheering, and I’m feeling like a hero for a second. Then, I head back to my office on Churchtown Road. I’ve got another client coming in, and I’m trying to shake off the weirdness of the day. But as I’m walking, I trip over a crack in the pavement. Classic! I’m like, “Really, Dundrum? You’re gonna do me like that?” The next client is a guy who’s super into mindfulness. He’s all zen and chill, and I’m just sitting there, still buzzing from the day. He starts talking about his “inner peace,” and I’m thinking, “Dude, I just want to find my inner coffee!” By the end of the day, I’m exhausted. I grab a bite at one of those food trucks near the Town Centre. I get a burger that’s way too big for my face. I’m trying to eat it, and it’s just falling apart. I’m laughing at myself, thinking, “This is my life now.” As I finally head home, I can’t help but reflect on the day. It was chaotic, emotional, and just plain weird. But that’s Dundrum for ya. It’s a wild ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Well, maybe a better sandwich. But that’s a story for another day!
