OMG, what a day! Like, seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in my little room on Main St. in Greenhills, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had to get my hair done. You know, the whole Maiko vibe. I’m sittin’ there at the salon on Maple Ave, and this lady is like, “Hold still!” Ugh, I’m trying to be patient, but my back is killing me. I mean, who knew sitting still could be such a workout? Then, I finally get outta there, and I’m feeling cute, right? But then I step outside, and it’s like a sauna. I’m sweating like a pig in a heatwave. Greenhills is usually nice, but today? Nah. I’m like, “Can someone turn down the sun, please?” So, I’m walking down Elm St., and I see this cute little café. I’m like, “Yasss, coffee time!” I order a matcha latte, and the barista is super chill. We start chatting, and he’s like, “You’re a Maiko? That’s dope!” I’m blushing, but then he spills my drink all over the counter. I’m like, “Dude, really?!” After that, I’m trying to clean up the mess, and I’m just so over it. But then, outta nowhere, this little kid runs up to me. He’s like, “You look like a princess!” Aww, my heart! I’m smiling again, and I’m like, “Thanks, kiddo!” Kids can be so sweet, right? Then I head over to the Greenhills Park. It’s usually my happy place. But today? It’s packed! Like, where did all these people come from? I can’t even find a spot to sit. I finally find a bench, and I’m just trying to chill when this dog runs up and starts sniffing my kimono. I’m like, “Excuse me, sir, personal space!” But then, I see this street performer on Oak St. He’s playing the guitar, and he’s actually really good! I’m vibing, and I throw him a couple of bucks. He winks at me, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe today isn’t a total disaster.” But then, I get a text from my friend. She’s like, “Meet me at the fountain!” So, I’m rushing over there, and I trip on a crack in the sidewalk. Classic me, right? I’m sprawled out on the ground, and people are staring. I’m like, “Just living my best life, folks!” Finally, I get to the fountain, and my friend is there, laughing. I’m like, “You’re so mean!” But we end up having a blast. We’re taking selfies, and I’m trying to do my best “Maiko pose.” As the sun sets, Greenhills looks magical. The lights come on, and everything feels right again. I’m sitting there, feeling all the feels. It’s been a rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Greenhills, you crazy, but I love ya!
