Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Raheny, right? The sun was shining, birds chirping, all that cliché stuff. I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local café on Howth Road. You know, the one with the best scones? Yeah, that one. I ordered my usual—coffee and a scone. But guess what? They were out of scones! Like, how do you run out of scones in the morning? I was fuming. I mean, c’mon, it’s Raheny! Get your act together! So, I settled for a muffin. Not the same, but whatever. I sat outside, soaking in the vibes. The people-watching was on point. There’s this dude who jogs by every morning. He’s always wearing the same neon green shorts. Like, bro, we get it, you’re fit. But change it up, man! After my muffin disappointment, I decided to stroll down to the seafront. You know, the one by the Bull Island? It’s gorgeous there. The waves were crashing, and I thought, “This is it. This is life.” But then, outta nowhere, a seagull swoops down and snatches my muffin! I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” I was so mad! I mean, who does that? Anyway, I walked along the promenade, trying to shake off the muffin theft. I passed by the playground on the corner of St. Assam’s Road. Kids were screaming, having the time of their lives. I remembered when I was a kid, swinging so high I thought I could touch the clouds. Good times, man. Then, I bumped into my mate, Dave. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he told me he saw a dolphin off the coast. A dolphin! In Raheny! I was like, “Dude, are you sure it wasn’t just a big fish?” But he swore it was a dolphin. I mean, I’d love to see that. After chatting with Dave, I decided to hit up the Raheny Village. You know, the shops and all that? I needed to buy some stuff for dinner. I walked into this little grocery store on the corner of the village. The smell of fresh bread hit me like a wave. I was in heaven. But then, I saw the prices. I mean, seriously? Who can afford this? I almost walked out empty-handed. But then, I spotted some local cheese. I love cheese. So, I grabbed it, along with some pasta. I was feeling good again. Until I got to the checkout. The cashier was super slow. Like, I could’ve read a novel in the time it took her to scan my stuff. I was losing my patience. Finally, I got outta there and headed home. I was exhausted. But then, I saw the sunset over the sea. It was breathtaking. The sky was all pink and orange. I stopped and just stared. It was one of those moments that makes you forget all the crap from the day. When I got home, I cooked up that pasta and cheese. It was delish! I sat down, finally relaxed. I thought about my day—muffin theft, dolphin sightings, overpriced groceries. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. So yeah, that was my day in Raheny. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
