Man, today was a wild ride in Ariel, IL. Like, seriously, I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, still half-asleep, and I spill my coffee all over my sketchbook. Great start, right? I’m like, “Awesome, just what I needed.” My textures are now a coffee art masterpiece. Thanks, universe. I hit the streets of Ariel, and lemme tell ya, it’s a whole vibe. I’m cruisin’ down Ariel St., and the sun’s shining, but it’s that weird kinda hot where you’re sweating but it’s not even noon yet. I pass by the Ariel Community Center, and there’s a bunch of kids playin’ basketball. They’re loud, but it’s cool. I used to be that loud, too. Then, I decide to swing by the local art supply store on Main St. I’m lookin’ for some new textures for my projects. I walk in, and it’s like heaven. Paints, brushes, all the good stuff. But then, I see the prices. I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” I mean, who do they think I am? Picasso? I’m just a texture artist tryin’ to make it, man. After that, I’m walkin’ down the street, and I bump into my buddy Jake. He’s always got some crazy story. Today, he tells me he saw a raccoon trying to steal a hot dog from a kid. I’m like, “Dude, that’s Ariel for ya.” Only in this town, right? So, we decide to grab lunch at this little diner on 1st St. The food’s bomb, but the service? Ugh. We wait forever. I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’ about how I could’ve been home workin’ on my textures instead of waitin’ for a burger. But then, when the food finally comes, it’s like a gift from the gods. I devour that thing like I haven’t eaten in days. After lunch, I’m feelin’ good, right? I stroll over to the park by the Ariel Public Library. It’s a nice spot, but today it’s packed. Families, kids, dogs everywhere. I’m tryin’ to find a quiet place to sketch, but it’s chaos. I finally find a bench, and just as I’m settlin’ in, a kid runs by and knocks my sketchbook off my lap. I’m like, “Seriously?!” But then, I see this old man feeding the ducks. He’s got this huge bag of bread, and he’s just tossin’ it everywhere. The ducks are goin’ nuts! I can’t help but laugh. It’s like a scene from a movie. I snap a pic for the ‘gram. Gotta share the Ariel vibes, right? As the day goes on, I’m feelin’ a mix of emotions. Happy, frustrated, surprised. It’s like Ariel’s throwin’ everything at me. I decide to head back home, but on the way, I take a detour down Park Ave. The trees are so pretty, and I can’t help but admire the colors. Fall is comin’, and it’s gonna be epic. Finally, I get home, and I’m exhausted. I plop down on my couch, and I’m like, “What a day.” I grab my sketchbook, and I start doodlin’ again. I’m tryin’ to capture all the craziness of the day. The coffee spill, the raccoon, the ducks. It’s all part of the Ariel experience, ya know? So yeah, that was my day in Ariel, IL. Full of ups and downs, but that’s what makes it real. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
