Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a bone cutter in Laqiyya (il) ain’t for the faint-hearted. Woke up this mornin’ feelin’ like a million bucks, but boy, did that change fast. So, I’m cruisin’ down Al-Mahdiyah Street, right? The sun’s blazin’, and I’m thinkin’ it’s gonna be a chill day. But nah, Laqiyya had other plans. First off, I hit up my favorite spot, that little café on Al-Mahdiyah. You know the one? The one with the best falafel in town. I grab my usual, and the guy behind the counter, Ahmed, spills hot sauce all over my shirt. Like, c’mon, man! I’m tryin’ to look professional here! Anyway, I wipe it off, but I’m already feelin’ the heat. I get to the clinic, and it’s packed. Like, what’s up with that? I thought it was a Tuesday, not a bone-breaking convention. I’m tryin’ to keep my cool, but inside, I’m like a pressure cooker. Then, this dude walks in. He’s limpin’ like he just got off a horse. Turns out, he fell off his bike on Al-Mahdiyah. I mean, who rides a bike on that street? It’s like a death trap! I’m tryin’ to focus, but I can’t help but crack jokes. “Dude, you sure you weren’t tryin’ to fly?” He laughs, but I can see the pain in his eyes. So, I get to work, and let me tell ya, bone cutting is no joke. It’s like surgery meets a horror movie. I’m in the zone, but then my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Samir. He’s like, “Yo, you gotta check out the new spot on Al-Mahdiyah!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m kinda busy here!” But he keeps goin’ on about this new shawarma place. I’m thinkin’, “Great, I’ll just cut bones and dream of shawarma.” After a few hours, I finally finish with Mr. Limp. He’s all bandaged up, and I’m feelin’ like a hero. But then, I step outside, and it’s like a freakin’ sauna. I’m sweatin’ bullets. I decide to take a stroll down Al-Mahdiyah to cool off. And guess what? I run into my old high school crush, Layla. She’s lookin’ fine, and I’m tryin’ to play it cool. But inside, I’m like, “Don’t mess this up, dude!” We chat for a bit, and she mentions she’s opening a new art gallery on Al-Mahdiyah. I’m like, “Wow, that’s awesome!” But then I remember I’m a bone cutter, not an art critic. So, I’m feelin’ all pumped up, right? But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by, and BAM! He knocks my drink all over me. I’m soaked again! I’m like, “Seriously? Is this a prank?” But the kid just laughs and runs off. Kids these days, man. Finally, I head back to the clinic, and it’s still packed. I’m thinkin’, “What do I gotta do to get a break?” But then, I see a familiar face. It’s my buddy, Rami. He’s got a broken wrist from a soccer game. I can’t help but laugh. “Dude, you gotta stop showboating!” We joke around, and it lightens the mood. I fix him up, and he’s outta there in no time. I’m feelin’ good again. As the day winds down, I’m walkin’ home, and I can’t help but think about Laqiyya. It’s chaotic, it’s loud, but it’s home. The streets, the people, the food—everything’s a part of me. So yeah, it was a wild day. I’m exhausted, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Laqiyya, you crazy, but I love ya!
