Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a tractor driver in Or-Akiva is like riding a rollercoaster, but without the safety bar. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’, birds chirpin’, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit the road on HaSharon Street. You know, the one that’s always packed with cars? Yeah, that one. I’m cruisin’ along, feelin’ like a king in my tractor, when suddenly, BAM! A pigeon decides to play chicken with me. Like, dude, you really wanna test my reflexes? I swerve, almost spill my coffee. Not cool, man. Then I get to the job site near the beach. Or-Akiva’s got this beautiful stretch of sand, right? But today, it’s like a scene from a disaster movie. There’s this huge pile of dirt, and I’m supposed to move it. Easy peasy, I think. But nooo, the machine starts acting up. It’s like it has a mind of its own. I’m wrestlin’ with it, and it’s like, “Nah, bro, not today.” I’m sweating bullets, cursing under my breath. “Come on, you hunk of junk!” I’m practically begging it to cooperate. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, it decides to work. I’m like, “Yesss!” But then, I look up and see a bunch of kids from the nearby school on HaSharon Street, just staring at me. I’m like a circus act. Great. So, I’m movin’ dirt, and these kids start cheering. I’m thinkin’, “Wow, I’m a hero now?” But then, one of ‘em throws a rock. A ROCK! I’m like, “What’s wrong with you, kid?” I mean, come on! I’m just tryin’ to do my job here. After that, I take a break. Grab a falafel from this little stand on HaSharon. Best falafel in town, no joke. I’m munchin’ away, and this old guy comes up to me. He’s like, “You know, back in my day, we didn’t have tractors.” I’m thinkin’, “Yeah, and back in your day, you probably walked uphill both ways.” But I just nod and smile. Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m in the middle of a dirt pile, and it’s pouring. I’m soaked, tractor’s getting muddy, and I’m just standing there, lookin’ like a drowned rat. But hey, at least it’s not a boring day, right? Finally, I wrap up the job. I’m exhausted, but I feel good. I mean, I conquered that dirt pile! I drive back through Or-Akiva, and the sunset is just beautiful. The sky’s all orange and pink, and I’m thinkin’, “Maybe today wasn’t so bad after all.” But then, I hit traffic on HaSharon again. Ugh! I’m stuck behind this guy who’s going 10 in a 50 zone. I’m like, “C’mon, man! You’re not in a tractor!” I’m honking, waving my arms, but he’s just chillin’. Finally, I get home, and I’m beat. I flop on the couch, and my cat jumps on me. I’m like, “Dude, you’re the only one who gets me.” And that’s my day in Or-Akiva. Full of surprises, a bit of chaos, and a whole lotta dirt. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
