Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a bouncer in Qalansuwa is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. You never know what’s comin’ next. So, I roll into work at this club on Al-Mahajir Street, right? The sun’s settin’, and the vibe is chill. But, oh boy, that chill didn’t last long. First off, I’m just standin’ there, checkin IDs, when this dude comes up. He’s got a wild look in his eyes, like he just ran a marathon or somethin’. I’m like, “Yo, you good?” And he’s all, “Yeah, man, just got into a fight down on Al-Jawhara Street.” I’m thinkin’, great, just what I need. I mean, c’mon, it’s a Wednesday night! So, I let him in, but I keep an eye on him. You never know, right? Then, outta nowhere, this girl starts screamin’. I rush over, and she’s like, “My phone! Someone stole my phone!” I’m like, “Chill, lady, we’ll find it.” But inside, I’m like, “Why do people always lose their stuff?” I start scanning the crowd. It’s packed, like a can of sardines. I spot a guy near the bar, acting all shady. I’m like, “Hey, you! What’s in your pockets?” He looks at me like I’m crazy. I’m like, “Dude, don’t play games.” Turns out, he’s got her phone! I’m feelin’ like a hero, but also kinda annoyed. Why can’t people just keep track of their stuff? Then, just when I think it can’t get crazier, this group of guys from Al-Manshiyya rolls in. They’re loud, obnoxious, and think they own the place. I’m like, “Not tonight, fellas.” I tell ‘em to keep it down, but they just laugh. Ugh, I swear, some people have no respect. But then, outta nowhere, one of ‘em trips and spills his drink all over his buddy. It’s like a scene from a movie! I can’t help but laugh. They start arguing, and I’m just standin’ there, watchin’ the chaos unfold. It’s like a soap opera, but with more sweat and less drama. Later, I take a breather outside. The air’s warm, and I can hear the sounds of Qalansuwa. The street vendors are still out, selling their shawarma and falafel. Man, I could go for some right now. But no time for that. I gotta get back inside. As I walk back in, I see the girl who lost her phone. She’s smiling now, thanks to me. I’m feelin’ like a champ. But then, I spot the dude from earlier, the one who got into a fight. He’s back, and he’s not alone. He’s got a couple of his buddies, and they look ready for round two. I’m like, “Not on my watch.” I step up, and it’s like a showdown. I’m tryin’ to keep it cool, but my heart’s racin’. I’m thinkin’, “This is it. This is how I go down.” But then, the guy just laughs and walks away. I’m like, “What just happened?” Finally, the night winds down. I’m exhausted, but I can’t help but smile. Qalansuwa is wild, man. It’s got its ups and downs, but it’s home. I love this crazy city, even when it drives me nuts. So, I head home, thinkin’ about all the madness. I can’t wait to tell my buddies about it. Just another day in the life of a bouncer in Qalansuwa. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
