Man, what a day! I swear, Qiryat-Ye-arim really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m a carpenter, right? Just your average dude with a hammer and a dream. Today started off chill, but boy, did it spiral. First off, I’m rollin’ down HaPalmach Street, just vibin’ to some tunes. The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’ today’s gonna be a breeze. But nah, life had other plans. I pull up to this job on Rehov HaNesher, and the client? Total diva. Like, c’mon, it’s just a bookshelf, not a royal throne! So, I’m there, measuring and cutting, when I realize I forgot my favorite chisel. Ugh! I’m like, “Really, dude? You had one job!” I sprint back to my workshop on Rehov HaShalom, dodging kids on bikes and old folks with their shopping carts. Seriously, it’s like an obstacle course out here! Finally, I grab the chisel and head back. But guess what? The client’s changed their mind. Now they want a whole wall unit instead. I’m like, “You serious, bro?” But I can’t say no. Rent’s due, ya know? So I’m stuck there, sweating like a pig, trying to figure out how to make this happen. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Yossi shows up. He’s got this wild idea to help me out. “Let’s hit up the lumber yard on Rehov HaGolan,” he says. I’m like, “Dude, we’re in the middle of a crisis!” But he’s persistent. So we hop in his beat-up van, and off we go. The lumber yard is a whole scene. It’s packed! I’m talkin’ people everywhere, like a market on a Friday. I’m trying to grab some oak, and Yossi’s busy flirting with the cashier. I’m like, “Focus, man! We need wood, not a date!” But he just winks and keeps chatting. Classic Yossi. We finally get the wood, and I’m feeling a bit better. But then, as we’re leaving, it starts pouring. I mean, like, biblical rain. I’m soaked, and my wood’s getting wet. I’m cursing under my breath, thinking, “This day can’t get any worse!” But wait, it does! We get back to the job site, and the client’s gone. Just poof! I’m standing there, drenched, with a pile of wood and no one to impress. I’m like, “Did I just get ghosted by a bookshelf?” So, I decide to chill for a sec. I sit on the curb of Rehov HaYarden, just taking it all in. The rain’s easing up, and I see kids splashing in puddles. It hits me—life’s messy, but it’s also kinda beautiful. I laugh at myself. I mean, who gets this worked up over wood, right? Then, outta nowhere, the client shows up. Turns out, they just went to grab coffee. I’m like, “You could’ve texted, ya know?” But they’re all smiles, and I can’t help but laugh it off. We get back to work, and somehow, it all comes together. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I’m driving home down Rehov HaTzofim, and the sunset is killer. I think about how wild today was. Qiryat-Ye-arim, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Just gotta roll with it. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll remember my chisel next time.
