Man, what a day! I swear, if I had a shekel for every crazy thing that happened in Rehovot today, I’d be rich. So, I wake up, right? Just another boring Tuesday. I’m an accountant, so my life is basically numbers and coffee. But today? Oh boy, today was a rollercoaster. First off, I’m cruising down Herzl Street, and I’m already late for a meeting. Typical. I’m chugging my coffee like it’s the last cup on Earth. I hit a red light at the intersection with Jabotinsky, and I’m like, “C’mon, man! I got numbers to crunch!” I’m tapping my fingers on the steering wheel, trying to channel my inner Zen, but it’s not working. Finally, I get to the office on HaSharon Street. I rush in, and guess what? My boss, Yael, is in a mood. She’s all like, “Where have you been?” I’m thinking, “Lady, it’s not like I was out partying on Rothschild!” But I just smile and say, “Traffic, you know?” Classic accountant move, right? So, I sit down, and I’m knee-deep in spreadsheets. I mean, I love my job, but sometimes it feels like I’m drowning in numbers. Then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Avi. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta check out the new café on Ben Gurion Street!” I’m like, “Avi, I’m working here!” But he’s persistent. “They have the best pastries!” Ugh, fine. I’ll go after work. Fast forward to lunch. I’m finally free, and I head to this café. It’s called “Café Rehovot” or something. Super cute place! I order a cappuccino and a chocolate croissant. I sit outside, soaking up the sun. It’s a beautiful day, and I’m feeling good. Then, BAM! A pigeon poops right next to me. Like, seriously? I’m just trying to enjoy my pastry! I laugh it off, but then I see this kid on the sidewalk. He’s selling lemonade. I’m like, “Aww, that’s cute!” So, I buy a cup. It’s the worst lemonade I’ve ever had. I mean, it’s basically water with a hint of lemon. I’m trying to be nice, so I say, “Great job, buddy!” But inside, I’m like, “What a rip-off!” After lunch, I head back to the office, and Yael’s still on my case. She’s like, “Did you finish the quarterly reports?” I’m like, “Chill, I’m on it!” But then I realize I forgot to save my work. My heart drops. I’m sweating bullets. I’m frantically clicking around, praying I didn’t lose everything. Thank the accounting gods, it’s all there. Phew! Later, I’m walking home down HaYarkon Street, and I see this street performer. He’s playing the guitar, and honestly, he’s pretty good. I stop for a sec, toss him a few shekels, and think, “Man, I wish I could do that.” But nah, I’m stuck with my spreadsheets. As I’m walking, I bump into my neighbor, Miriam. She’s all excited about some new park they’re building near the train station. I’m like, “Great, more places for kids to scream.” But she’s all about the community vibes. I just nod and smile. Finally, I get home, and I’m exhausted. I flop on the couch, and all I can think about is how wild today was. From traffic jams to pigeon poop, to bad lemonade and street performers. Rehovot, you never cease to amaze me. I love this city, even when it drives me nuts. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, emotional ride in Rehovot. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
