Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a dispatcher in Albisola-Superiore is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First call comes in at 8 AM. Some dude on Via Mazzini is locked outta his car. I mean, c’mon, bro! How do you lock yourself outta your own ride? I send a guy over, but I’m already rolling my eyes. Like, can’t you just use your brain for once? Then, boom! Another call. This time, it’s a lady on Corso Italia. She’s freaking out ‘cause her cat, Micio, is stuck in a tree. I’m like, “Lady, it’s a cat, not a lion!” But I send someone anyway. I mean, who doesn’t love a good cat rescue, right? But then, oh man, the real chaos starts. I get a call from a bakery on Via Garibaldi. They’re outta flour! Like, how do you run a bakery without flour? I’m picturing a bunch of angry customers, ready to riot over their pastries. So, I’m scrambling to find a delivery. Flour emergency, people! And just when I think it can’t get crazier, I get a call from a guy on Via Roma. He’s stuck in traffic ‘cause some festival is happening. I’m like, “Dude, it’s Albisola! There’s always a festival!” But he’s losing it, yelling about how he’s gonna miss his appointment. I’m just here, trying to keep my cool, but inside I’m like, “Welcome to the club, buddy!” Around noon, I finally get a breather. I grab a slice of pizza from that little place near the beach. You know the one? Best pizza in town! I’m munching away, thinking maybe the day’s turning around. But nope! My phone buzzes again. This time, it’s a call from a tourist. They’re lost. I mean, how do you get lost in Albisola-Superiore? It’s not that big! I’m trying to give directions, but they keep interrupting me. “Wait, where’s the beach?” “What’s a ‘passeggiata’?” I’m like, “Just follow the sound of gelato, you’ll find it!” By 3 PM, I’m running on fumes. I’m tired, cranky, and just want to go home. But nooo, the universe has other plans. I get a call about a minor accident on Via della Libertà. Two cars, no injuries, but traffic is a nightmare. I’m dispatching units like a madman, trying to untangle the mess. And then, just when I think I can finally relax, I hear sirens. A fire truck zooms past. I’m like, “What now?” Turns out, there’s a small fire at a restaurant on Via Cavour. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I needed!” But then I hear the owner is a local hero, saving a bunch of kids from a burning building. I’m like, “Wow, that’s actually kinda awesome.” Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted but somehow happy. Albisola-Superiore, with all its quirks and craziness, is home. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. I mean, where else can you have a cat stuck in a tree, a flour emergency, and a fire hero all in one day? So, I head home, ready to crash. But as I walk past the beach, I can’t help but smile. The sunset is gorgeous, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. I think, “Yeah, this is why I do it.” Tomorrow’s another day, and who knows what’ll happen? But for now, I’m just gonna kick back and enjoy the view. Albisola-Superiore, you wild ride, you!
