Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a Nose in Altofonte is a wild ride. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Via Roma. I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the local café on Piazza della Libertà. Best cappuccino ever! But then, bam! My buddy Marco shows up, all frantic. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta smell this!” I’m thinkin’, “What now?” Turns out, he found this crazy flower on the outskirts of town. I’m like, “Bro, it’s just a flower.” But no, he’s convinced it’s the next big thing. So, we trek over to the Parco della Rimembranza. It’s a nice spot, ya know? Trees, chill vibes. But then, I get a whiff of something foul. Like, what the heck? I look around, and there’s this dog, just doin’ its business. I’m like, “C’mon, man! Not here!” I’m tryin’ to enjoy nature, and this pup’s ruining it. After that, we head down to Via San Giovanni. I’m still grumpy about the dog. But then, I see this street performer. He’s playin’ the accordion, and it’s actually kinda good. I start to feel better. I toss him a couple of euros. He winks at me, and I’m like, “Yeah, I’m a big spender.” Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. Marco’s laughin’ his head off. I’m like, “Dude, this is not funny!” But I can’t help but laugh too. We duck into a little shop on Via Vittorio Emanuele. It’s packed with all these weird scents. I’m sniffin’ everything. There’s this one that smells like grandma’s cookies. I’m like, “I need this in my life!” Finally, we decide to grab some food. We hit up this trattoria on Via della Libertà. The pasta? To die for! I’m slurpin’ it down like I haven’t eaten in days. Marco’s talkin’ about his latest crush, and I’m just nodding, but all I can think about is that pasta. Then, the owner comes over. He’s this old dude, super grumpy. He’s like, “You boys eatin’ or just sniffin’?” I’m like, “Both, man!” He cracks a smile, and I’m like, “See? I’m a Nose, I can’t help it!” After dinner, we stroll through the streets. The lights are twinklin’, and I’m feelin’ good. But then, I see this guy on a bike, and he’s zoomin’ past. He almost knocks me over! I’m like, “Hey, watch it!” He just laughs and keeps goin’. I’m fuming again. But then, we hit the gelato shop on Via Roma. I get pistachio, Marco goes for chocolate. Best decision ever! I’m lickin’ it, and all my anger just melts away. I’m like, “This is life!” As the night winds down, I’m walkin’ home, thinkin’ about the day. It was a rollercoaster, for sure. From the flower to the dog to the pasta and gelato, Altofonte never fails to surprise me. I love this crazy town. It’s got its quirks, just like me. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Altofonte. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
