Man, what a day! Bacoli, you wild little town, you really threw me for a loop today. I mean, I’m just a clergyman, right? But today felt like a rollercoaster. Buckle up, folks, this is gonna be a ride. So, I woke up early, like, way too early. The sun was barely peeking over the hills of Monte di Procida. I thought, “Hey, let’s take a stroll by the sea.” You know, the beautiful coastline along the Lungomare di Bacoli? Yeah, that place is magic. The waves were crashing, and I was feeling all zen. But then, bam! I stepped in a puddle. A big one. My shoes? Soaked. Great start, right? I was supposed to meet some folks at the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. You know, the one with the cool bell tower? Yeah, that place. I was running late, of course. I dashed down Via Roma, dodging tourists like I was in some kind of video game. “Excuse me! Pardon me!” I was practically yelling. Finally, I get to the church, and guess what? No one’s there. Just my luck! I mean, c’mon, people! I waited for like 20 minutes. I was about to give up and head to the nearest gelateria when they finally showed up. Late as usual. I was like, “You guys know we’re in Italy, right? Not a fashion show!” But whatever, we had a good laugh about it. After the meeting, we decided to grab some lunch. We hit up this little trattoria on Via Cuma. The food? Oh man, it was heavenly. I had spaghetti alle vongole, and let me tell you, it was like a party in my mouth. But then, outta nowhere, this seagull swoops down and snatches a piece of my bread! I was like, “Hey! That’s my lunch, you feathered thief!” Everyone laughed, but I was half-serious. I mean, who knew seagulls had such guts? Then we wandered over to the Parco Vanvitelliano. It’s this gorgeous park with fountains and all that jazz. I was feeling all philosophical, you know? Like, “What’s the meaning of life?” But then I saw a kid chasing a dog, and the dog just took off. I mean, it was like a scene from a movie. The kid was screaming, “Pippo, come back!” I couldn’t help but chuckle. Life’s simple joys, right? But then, oh boy, the drama hit. We were walking back, and I saw this old lady struggling with her groceries on Via Bellavista. I rushed over to help her, thinking I’m a good Samaritan or something. But she looked at me like I was crazy! “I don’t need help!” she yelled. I was like, “Okay, lady, chill!” But I helped anyway. Turns out, she was just stubborn. Classic Bacoli, right? As the sun started to set, I decided to take a moment by the water. The view from the Porto di Bacoli is breathtaking. The sky was all pink and orange, and I felt this wave of gratitude wash over me. I thought about how lucky I am to be here, in this crazy little town. But then, my phone buzzed. It was my buddy asking if I wanted to join him for a drink at a bar on Via Napoli. I was like, “Why not?” So, I ended the day with a cold beer, laughing about the seagull, the old lady, and the kid with the dog. Bacoli, you’re a wild ride. You make me laugh, you make me think, and sometimes you make me wanna pull my hair out. But I wouldn’t trade you for anything. Here’s to more crazy days in this beautiful town! Cheers! 🍻
