Man, what a day! I woke up in Barberino-di-Mugello, and I swear, I thought it was gonna be chill. You know, just another day in this cute lil’ town. But nah, life had other plans. First off, I hit up Via Roma for my morning coffee. Gotta love that place! The barista, Marco, he’s a legend. He knows my order by heart. But today? Dude was outta my fave beans! I was like, “Are you kidding me?!” I mean, how do you run out of coffee in Italy? It’s like running outta pasta! So, I settled for some weird blend. Not cool, man. Then I decided to stroll down to Lago di Bilancino. It’s this gorgeous lake, right? Perfect for some inspiration. I’m a texture artist, so I’m always lookin’ for colors and vibes. But as I’m walkin’, I see this family of ducks. And I’m like, “Aww, cute!” But then, one of the little ducklings trips and falls into the water. I’m like, “Oh no, not the duck!” But the lil’ dude just pops back up, quacking like he’s the king of the world. I laughed so hard, I almost dropped my sketchbook. After that, I headed over to the old town center. You know, where all the cobblestones are? I love that vibe. But guess what? There was a street performer, and he was playing the accordion. Not just any accordion, but the loudest, most off-key accordion I’ve ever heard. I mean, come on! I’m trying to vibe here, not get my eardrums blasted! I wanted to throw some coins at him, but not for the music. More like, “Dude, please stop!” So, I’m walking down Via della Libertà, and I see this cute little shop. It’s got all these handmade crafts. I’m like, “Yes! Finally, something good!” I walk in, and the owner, this sweet old lady, starts chatting me up. She’s telling me about her family and how they’ve been in Barberino for generations. I’m like, “That’s awesome!” But then she pulls out this weird-looking ceramic thing. I’m not even sure what it was. A vase? A hat? I dunno. But she’s like, “It’s a family heirloom!” I’m thinking, “Lady, I’m not buying that!” Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring rain. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. I duck into a café on Via Mazzini, and it’s packed. I’m standing there, dripping wet, and everyone’s looking at me like I’m some kinda wet dog. I just wanted a pastry and a dry spot! Finally, I get a seat, and I order a bomb cornetto. It’s like a croissant but better. I take a bite, and it’s heavenly. But then, I spill coffee all over my sketchbook. I’m like, “Nooooo!” My sketches are ruined! I’m about to cry. But then, the barista comes over with a napkin and says, “Don’t worry, it happens!” I’m like, “Dude, you’re a lifesaver!” After that, I decided to head back home. I took the long way through the hills. The views are insane! You can see the vineyards and the rolling hills. It’s like a postcard. I’m feeling all zen, and then I see a bunch of goats on the side of the road. They’re just chillin’, munching on grass. I’m like, “What’s up, goats?” They look at me like I’m crazy. By the time I got home, I was exhausted but happy. Barberino-di-Mugello is wild, man. It’s got its quirks, but that’s what makes it special. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Even with the coffee drama and the accordion nightmare, it’s my kinda place. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
