Man, what a day! I woke up in Benevento, and let me tell ya, this city is a wild mix of old-school charm and modern chaos. I mean, I’m a guitar master, right? But today, I felt like a lost tourist in my own town. So, I grab my guitar and hit the streets. First stop? Corso Garibaldi. It’s like the main artery of the city, ya know? Packed with cafes and shops. I’m strumming away, trying to catch some vibes, when this old dude walks by. He stops, looks at me, and says, “Hey, you play like a cat in a blender!” I’m like, “Thanks, man! I’ll take that as a compliment?” Then, I head over to Piazza Risorgimento. Beautiful spot, right? But today, it’s like a freakin’ circus. Kids running everywhere, parents yelling, and I’m just trying to find my zen. I sit on a bench, strumming my guitar, and suddenly, this pigeon decides my lap is the perfect landing pad. Ugh! I’m like, “Dude, not cool!” After that, I’m feeling a bit peckish, so I wander down Via Roma. I spot this little trattoria. The smell of pasta hits me like a freight train. I order some gnocchi, and it’s like a hug for my soul. Seriously, if you’re in Benevento, you gotta try it. I’m sitting there, scarfing down food, and I overhear this couple arguing about... I kid you not... the best pizza toppings. I’m thinking, “Man, you guys need to chill. It’s just pizza!” But then, BAM! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the old Roman Theatre!” I’m like, “Right now? I’m in a food coma!” But I can’t resist. So, I grab my guitar and head over. The theatre is epic. I mean, it’s ancient! I’m standing there, and it hits me—this place has seen so much history. I start playing a little tune, and it echoes off the walls. It’s magical. But then, outta nowhere, this group of tourists shows up, and they’re all snapping pics. I’m like, “Hey, I’m trying to create art here!” But they’re too busy posing with their selfie sticks. I finally get a break from the chaos and decide to chill at the nearby Ponte Leproso. It’s this old bridge, and the view is stunning. I’m sitting there, guitar in hand, just soaking it all in. But then, I see this guy trying to fish. He’s got this huge net, and I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re in Benevento, not the Amazon!” As the sun starts to set, I’m feeling all kinds of emotions. Happy, frustrated, surprised—like a rollercoaster. I decide to head back to Corso Garibaldi. I’m walking, and I see this street performer playing the accordion. I join in with my guitar, and suddenly, we’re jamming. It’s like the whole street stops to listen. People are dancing, laughing, and I’m just vibing. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. I’m like, “Seriously?!” But we keep playing. The rain just adds to the vibe. It’s like a scene from a movie. I’m soaked, but I don’t care. Finally, I pack up and head home. I’m exhausted but happy. Benevento, man. It’s a crazy place, but it’s my crazy place. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. What a day!
