Man, what a day! I swear, being a huntsman in Borgosatollo is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s barely up, and I’m already thinking about the wild boar I spotted last week near Via Roma. I grab my gear, head out, and boom! First surprise of the day: it’s raining. Like, seriously? I thought we were done with this soggy nonsense. Anyway, I trudge through the streets. Borgosatollo is a small town, but it’s got character. The cobblestones on Via Garibaldi are all uneven, and I almost trip over my own feet. Classic me. I’m dodging puddles like I’m in some weird game of hopscotch. So, I finally get to the woods. It’s quiet, too quiet. I’m thinking, “Great, I’m gonna have a peaceful day.” But then, outta nowhere, I hear this rustling. My heart’s racing. I’m like, “Is it the boar? Is it a bear? Or just a squirrel on steroids?” Turns out, it’s just a couple of kids playing hide and seek. Ugh, kids these days. Can’t they find a better place to play? I’m getting all grumpy when I spot a deer. A beautiful one, too. I’m like, “Okay, this is it. This is my moment.” But just as I’m about to take aim, a dog comes barreling through. It’s barking like it’s auditioning for a movie. The deer bolts, and I’m left standing there, fuming. “Thanks, Fido! You really helped me out!” So, I decide to head back. I’m walking down Via Roma, and I see this little café. The smell of fresh pastries hits me like a brick wall. I can’t resist. I grab a cornetto and a coffee. Best decision ever! I sit outside, watching the world go by. Old folks chatting, kids running around, and I’m just there, enjoying my moment. But then, I overhear this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. They’re going back and forth about who left the lights on. I’m thinking, “Man, if that’s the biggest problem you got, you’re doing alright.” But then, the guy storms off, and the girl starts crying. I feel bad, but also kinda amused. Love is wild, man. After my coffee break, I head back to the woods. I’m determined to find that boar. I’m sneaking around, feeling all stealthy, when I trip over a root. I fall flat on my face. Great. Just great. I’m lying there, covered in dirt, and I can’t help but laugh. “This is what I get for being a huntsman,” I think. Finally, I spot the boar! It’s huge, and I’m like, “This is it!” But just as I’m about to make my move, it snorts and runs off. Seriously? I’m starting to think this boar is playing hard to get. By now, I’m exhausted. I head back to Borgosatollo, feeling defeated. But then, I see the sunset over the hills. It’s stunning. The sky’s all orange and pink, and for a moment, I forget about the boar and the dog and the couple fighting. It’s just me and the beauty of this place. I stroll through the town, feeling a bit better. I pass by the old church on Via Mazzini. It’s got this charm that never gets old. I think about how many people have walked these streets, just like me. As I finally get home, I realize today was a mess, but it was my mess. And that’s what makes it all worth it. Borgosatollo, with its quirks and surprises, is my home. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
