Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an auctioneer in Borgosesia is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I had to set up for this big auction at the Palazzo Ferrero. You know, that fancy place on Via Roma? Yeah, that one. I’m hauling boxes of antiques, and let me tell ya, those things are heavier than they look. I’m sweating like a sinner in church. And then, boom! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you won’t believe this!” I’m thinkin’, “What now?” Turns out, he’s stuck in traffic on Corso Garibaldi. Classic Marco, right? Always late. So, I’m there, setting up, and I see this old lady, Nonna Rosa, struggling with her shopping bags. I rush over, help her out. She’s like, “Grazie, giovane!” I’m feelin’ like a hero for a sec. But then she starts telling me about her cat, Gigi, who apparently thinks he’s a dog. I’m like, “Okay, cool, but I gotta get back to work.” Finally, the auction starts. The place is packed! I’m up there, doing my thing, and the energy is electric. People are bidding like crazy! I’m talkin’ about that vintage Vespa from the ‘60s. It’s on fire! But then, outta nowhere, this guy in the back yells, “That’s a rip-off!” I’m like, “Dude, you’re at an auction! What do you expect?” And then, just when I think it can’t get crazier, the lights flicker. I’m thinkin’, “Great, now we’re gonna have a blackout.” But nah, it’s just the power acting up. Typical Borgosesia, right? Always some drama. But here’s the kicker. I’m auctioning off this beautiful painting of the Sesia River, and I see a familiar face in the crowd. It’s my ex, Lucia. She’s there, looking all fabulous, and I’m like, “What the heck?” My heart’s racing. I try to focus, but all I can think about is how she dumped me for some guy named Fabio. Fabio! Like, who names their kid that? Anyway, I’m trying to keep it together, but I’m all over the place. I accidentally mix up the bids. People are laughing, and I’m just standing there, red as a tomato. But then, I see Nonna Rosa again, and she gives me a thumbs up. That’s my cue! I rally, and the bids start flying again. By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. We raised a ton of cash for the local charity. I’m feeling like a champ. But then, as I’m packing up, I hear someone shout, “Hey, auctioneer!” It’s Marco, finally showing up. He’s like, “Did I miss it?” I just roll my eyes. “You missed the best part, buddy!” So, I head out, walking down Via Roma, the night air cool against my skin. I can’t help but smile. Borgosesia, with its cobblestone streets and that beautiful view of the mountains, it’s home. Even with all the chaos, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. And that’s a wrap on my day. Just another wild ride in Borgosesia. Can’t wait to do it all again!
