Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in Busalla, right? You know, that little gem in Liguria, Italy. It’s got charm, but today? Ugh, it was a rollercoaster. First off, I’m a typhlopedagogue, which is a fancy way of saying I teach visually impaired kids. Love my job, but today? Pffft. I was ready to pull my hair out. I mean, I’m all about helping these kids, but sometimes, the universe just throws curveballs. So, I’m walking down Via Roma, and it’s like, 8 AM. The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinking, “Today’s gonna be great!” Yeah, right. I get to the school, and guess what? The power’s out! Like, seriously? In the middle of a lesson? I’m trying to teach these kids about textures, and we can’t even see! I’m like, “Okay, let’s improvise.” So, I grab some random stuff from my bag. A banana, a piece of sandpaper, and a rubber duck. Yeah, I know, weird combo. But hey, we made it work! The kids were laughing, and I was like, “This is it! We’re making memories!” But then, outta nowhere, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the piazza later!” I’m thinking, “What’s happening in the piazza?” Turns out, there’s a street fair! Food, music, the whole shebang. I’m pumped! After class, I’m racing down Via Garibaldi. I’m dodging people, tripping over my own feet. I’m like, “C’mon, legs, keep up!” Finally, I get to the piazza, and it’s packed. I mean, like sardines in a can. I spot Marco, and he’s holding a giant slice of pizza. I’m drooling. “Dude, where’d you get that?” He points to this little food stall. I’m like, “I’m on it!” I get in line, and it feels like forever. I’m hangry, and the smell is killing me. Finally, I get my pizza. It’s massive! I take a bite, and it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m talking gooey cheese, fresh basil, and the crust? Perfectly crispy. I’m in love. But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m standing there, pizza in hand, and I’m like, “What is this, a rom-com?” Everyone’s scrambling for cover, and I’m just laughing. I mean, it’s Busalla! A little rain never hurt anyone, right? So, I find shelter under this awning on Via XX Settembre. I’m chatting with some locals, and they’re telling me about the history of the town. Did you know Busalla used to be a major stop for traders? Crazy, right? I’m soaking it all in, and it’s like, “Wow, I love this place.” Then, the rain stops, and the sun comes out again. It’s like a movie moment. I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I head back to the fair, and there’s live music now! Some band is playing, and I’m just vibing. But then, I see this kid drop his ice cream. I’m like, “Noooo!” I rush over, and I’m trying to cheer him up. I’m like, “Hey, buddy, let’s get you another one!” His face lights up, and I’m like, “Yes! Mission accomplished!” As the day winds down, I’m walking back home, and I can’t help but smile. Busalla, with all its quirks and surprises, has a way of making you feel alive. I’m exhausted, but in the best way possible. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Busalla, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart.
