Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an abrasive blaster in Cabiate is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit the road on Via Roma. Traffic was a nightmare! I mean, c’mon, it’s Cabiate, not Milan! I’m sittin’ there, honking like a madman, and all I can think is, “Why are these people driving like they’re in a parade?” Finally, I get to the job site, and it’s a mess. I’m talkin’ about a total disaster zone. So, I’m blasting away at this old concrete wall on Via Garibaldi. Dust everywhere! I can’t see a thing. I’m like a human snowstorm, but instead of snow, it’s just grit and grime. And then, outta nowhere, this pigeon swoops down and lands right on my shoulder. I freak out! Like, dude, get off me! I’m not your perch! After I shoo the bird away, I notice this old lady across the street. She’s just staring at me, shaking her head. I’m thinkin’, “Lady, you’ve never seen an abrasive blaster before?” But then she yells, “You’re makin’ a mess!” I’m like, “Yeah, that’s kinda the point!” Then, I get a call from my boss. He’s all like, “You better finish by 5!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m not a magician!” But whatever, I crank up the blaster and go to town. I’m blasting away, and it feels good. Like, really good. I’m in my zone, you know? But then, BAM! The blaster jams. I’m standing there, covered in dust, and I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I try to fix it, but it’s like trying to solve a Rubik’s cube blindfolded. I’m sweating bullets, and the clock is ticking. Finally, I get it working again, and I’m back at it. I’m blasting away, and I can see the wall starting to look decent. I’m feeling proud, like I’m Michelangelo or something. But then, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some dude on a bike just wiped out on Via Cavour. I can’t help but laugh. I mean, c’mon, how do you fall off a bike? As the day goes on, I’m getting tired. My arms are sore, and I’m covered in grime. But then, I see this little kid watching me. He’s got this huge smile on his face, and he’s pointing at the wall. I realize, hey, I’m making a difference! I’m not just blasting concrete; I’m putting a smile on a kid’s face. So, I finish up, and it’s finally 5 PM. I’m exhausted but happy. I pack up my gear and head to the local bar on Via Vittorio Emanuele. I order a beer, and the bartender’s like, “You look like you’ve been through a war.” I laugh and say, “You have no idea!” As I sit there, sipping my drink, I think about the day. It was wild, emotional, and full of surprises. Cabiate, man, it’s a crazy place. But it’s home. And even with all the chaos, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, here’s to another day in Cabiate! Cheers! 🍻
