Man, what a day! I swear, being a forester in Cairo-Montenotte is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I head down Via Roma, thinking I’ll grab a coffee at that little café, you know, the one with the weird name? “Caffè del Bosco” or something. I get there, and it’s packed! Like, who knew everyone in Cairo-Montenotte needed their caffeine fix at 8 AM? I’m standing there, tapping my foot, and this dude in front of me orders a macchiato with extra foam. Seriously? Extra foam? I’m about to lose it. Finally, I get my coffee, and I’m outta there. I stroll down Via Garibaldi, feeling all fancy with my cup. But then, bam! I trip over a loose cobblestone. Like, come on! Who’s in charge of these streets? I’m a forester, not a stuntman! I spill half my coffee. Great start, right? So, I’m walking, trying to shake it off, and I see this old guy feeding pigeons. He’s got a whole flock around him, and I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re like the pigeon whisperer.” But then, outta nowhere, a pigeon poops on his head! I can’t help but laugh. I mean, karma, right? Next, I head to the park near the Castello di Cairo. It’s my favorite spot. Trees everywhere, birds singing, and I’m just vibing. But then, I see this group of kids playing soccer. They’re kicking the ball around, and I’m like, “Cool, let them have fun.” But then, one of them kicks the ball straight into a bush. And guess what? It’s my bush! My precious little saplings! I’m fuming. I march over, ready to give them a piece of my mind. “Hey, watch where you kick that thing!” I shout. They look at me like I’m the Grinch or something. I mean, I’m just trying to protect my trees! But then, one of the kids says, “Sorry, mister! We’ll help you plant more!” And just like that, my anger melts. Kids can be surprisingly sweet sometimes. After that, I decide to take a breather. I sit on a bench, sipping what’s left of my coffee. I’m thinking about how much I love this town. Cairo-Montenotte is small but has this charm. The streets, the people, the history. It’s like a hidden gem. But then, I remember the time I got lost in the old town. Man, that was a trip. I ended up on Via Cavour, and I swear I saw a cat that looked like it was judging me. Anyway, I finally head back to work. I’m in the woods, surrounded by trees, and it’s peaceful. But then, I hear this weird noise. I’m like, “What the heck is that?” Turns out, it’s a bunch of wild boars! They’re just chilling, munching on some roots. I’m standing there, trying to be all cool, but inside, I’m freaking out. I mean, wild boars? In Cairo-Montenotte? What’s next, a bear? So, I back away slowly, trying not to disturb them. But then, one of them looks at me. I swear, it was like a scene from a movie. I’m staring at this boar, and it’s staring back. I’m thinking, “Dude, we could be friends.” But then, it snorts and runs off. Phew! Finally, I wrap up my day. I’m exhausted but happy. I love my job, even with all the craziness. Cairo-Montenotte, you’ve got my heart. Just keep the pigeons away from my head, and we’re good!
