Man, what a day! I swear, if I had a euro for every crazy thing that happened in Caldaro-sulla-Strada-del-Vino today, I’d be rich. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m heading down Via della Storia, and I’m already late. Typical. I’m a carpenter, not a magician, but I’m trying to make it to this job on time. I’m hustling, dodging tourists like they’re pigeons. Seriously, these folks don’t know how to walk! They’re all stopping to take pics of the vineyards. I mean, yeah, they’re beautiful and all, but c’mon! I got wood to work with! So, I finally get to the job site, right? It’s this old villa on Via del Lago. Gorgeous place, but man, it’s a fixer-upper. I’m talking about beams that look like they’ve seen better days. I’m all set to start, and then my buddy Marco shows up. He’s late too, of course. He’s got this huge grin on his face, like he just won the lottery. Turns out, he did! He found a stash of old wine bottles in the cellar. Like, who even leaves that behind? I’m happy for him, but also, dude, we got work to do! We’re working away, and I’m trying to focus, but then I hear this loud crash. I look over, and Marco’s knocked over a stack of wood. I’m like, “Really, man? You’re gonna break my stuff now?” He just laughs it off. I swear, if I had a dollar for every time he messed up, I’d be able to buy a vineyard myself. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady from the neighborhood comes by. She’s all like, “You boys need to fix my fence!” I’m thinking, “Lady, I’m not a fence builder!” But she’s persistent. I mean, she’s got that Italian grandma vibe, you know? You can’t say no. So, we end up fixing her fence, and she brings us some homemade strudel. Best strudel I’ve ever had! I’m like, “Okay, maybe this day ain’t so bad after all.” But then, just when I think it’s smooth sailing, it starts to rain. And not just a little drizzle. I’m talking about a full-on downpour. We’re scrambling to cover the wood, and I’m cursing under my breath. “Why today? Why now?” I’m soaked, and my tools are getting ruined. I’m ready to throw in the towel. But then, I look around. The rain’s hitting the vineyards, and it’s kinda beautiful. The way the droplets dance on the leaves, it’s like nature’s own show. I take a deep breath, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe I can deal with this.” I mean, I love this town. Caldaro-sulla-Strada-del-Vino is my home. The wine, the people, the crazy weather—it’s all part of the charm. After the rain, the sun comes back out, and everything smells fresh. We finish up the fence, and the old lady brings us more strudel. I’m in heaven! I’m laughing with Marco, and we’re just enjoying the moment. It’s these little things, ya know? Finally, we wrap up for the day. I’m exhausted but happy. I stroll down Via del Vino, taking in the sights. The vineyards are glowing in the sunset, and I can’t help but smile. I love this place. Sure, it’s chaotic, but it’s my chaos. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Caldaro-sulla-Strada-del-Vino, you’ve got my heart. Now, if only I could find a way to keep Marco from breaking my stuff!
