Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Campobello-di-Licata, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Via Roma for some coffee. You know, the good stuff. I’m standing there, waiting for my cappuccino, and this dude in front of me orders, like, a 5-layered, whipped cream, sprinkle explosion. I’m just like, “Bro, it’s coffee, not a dessert!” But whatever, I’m not judging. I mean, who am I to judge? I’m just here for my caffeine fix. Finally, I get my drink, and I’m feeling all fancy. I stroll down to Piazza della Libertà, soaking in the vibes. The square is buzzing, people chatting, kids running around. I spot this old man selling fresh cannoli. I can’t resist. I buy one, and OMG, it’s like heaven in my mouth. I’m grinning like an idiot, and then—BAM!—some kid bumps into me, and my cannoli goes flying! I’m standing there, just staring at the ground like it’s the end of the world. I mean, come on! Not the cannoli! So, I’m fuming, right? I look up, and there’s this street performer on Via Garibaldi, playing the accordion. He’s got this wild energy, and suddenly, I’m laughing. Like, how can you be mad when there’s an accordion guy? I toss him a couple of euros, and he gives me a wink. I’m like, “Yeah, man, you get it!” Then, I decide to check out the local market on Via Vittorio Emanuele. It’s packed! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all the locals haggling. I love it! I grab some tomatoes, and this lady starts chatting me up about her secret sauce recipe. I’m nodding along, but honestly, I’m just trying to remember if I even have pasta at home. Spoiler: I don’t. After the market, I’m feeling pretty good. I head over to the old church, Chiesa Madre. It’s stunning! The architecture is insane. I’m wandering around, taking pics, and then I see this couple getting married. Like, right there! I’m all “Aww, love is in the air!” But then, the groom trips on his own feet. I can’t help it—I burst out laughing. I mean, c’mon! That’s a classic! But then, the day takes a turn. I’m walking back, and I see this stray dog. He looks rough, man. I’m like, “Dude, you need some love.” So, I sit down, and he comes over. We’re bonding, and I’m thinking, “I should totally adopt him.” But then, he sneezes on me. Like, thanks, buddy. Just what I needed. I’m laughing and grossed out at the same time. As I’m heading home, I pass by the old olive trees on the outskirts. They’re massive! I stop to take a pic, and I’m just thinking about how these trees have seen it all. They’ve been here forever, through wars, love stories, everything. It’s kinda deep, you know? Finally, I get home, and I’m exhausted. I flop on the couch, and I’m like, “What a day!” I mean, from cannoli disasters to wedding fails, it was a rollercoaster. Campobello-di-Licata, you never cease to amaze me. I love this place, even when it drives me nuts. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
