Man, what a day! Seriously, Canegrate threw me for a loop. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just another day managing the community stuff. But nah, the universe had other plans. First off, I hit the streets of Via Roma, right? I’m just vibin’, coffee in hand, ready to tackle the day. But then, boom! I see this huge crowd at the piazza. Like, what’s going on? Turns out, it’s some local festival. I mean, who doesn’t love a good festa? But I’m like, “Dude, I’ve got work!” So, I’m trying to navigate through the crowd. People everywhere, kids running, old folks gossiping. I swear, I almost tripped over a dog. Like, come on, Canegrate! Can we not? Anyway, I finally make it to the community center on Via Garibaldi. I walk in, and it’s chaos. Total chaos. Someone spilled coffee all over the new flyers. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed.” I’m trying to clean it up, and my phone buzzes. It’s a message from the mayor. He wants to meet. Like, now. I’m thinking, “Dude, can’t you see I’m busy?” But ofc, I can’t say that. So, I rush over to the town hall on Piazza della Libertà. I’m sweating bullets. I get there, and the mayor’s all smiles. He’s talking about some new project. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Can we wrap this up? I’ve got a festival to get back to!” Then, outta nowhere, he mentions a new park on Via Dante. I’m like, “Wait, what? A park?” I mean, Canegrate needs more green spaces, but I didn’t see that coming. I’m pumped! But then he says they need volunteers. And guess who he looks at? Yup, me. I’m trying to keep my cool, but inside I’m like, “Ugh, more work?” But hey, I can’t say no. So, I agree. Now I’m committed to this park project. Great. Just what I needed. After the meeting, I dash back to the festival. It’s wild! Music blasting, people dancing, food stalls everywhere. I grab a slice of pizza from my fave spot on Via Mazzini. Best pizza ever, no cap. I’m munching away, feeling a bit better. But then, I see this kid crying. Like, full-on meltdown. I’m thinking, “What now?” Turns out, he lost his balloon. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a balloon!” But I can’t just leave him. So, I buy him another one. His face lights up, and I’m like, “Okay, maybe today isn’t so bad.” But then, I get a call. It’s my friend, and he’s stuck at the train station. He missed his train to Milan. I’m like, “Seriously? You had one job!” But I can’t leave him hanging. So, I rush over to the station on Via Roma again. I get there, and he’s just sitting there, looking all sad. I’m like, “Dude, it’s not the end of the world!” But he’s all mopey. So, we grab a gelato from that little shop nearby. Best decision ever. Finally, we head back to the festival. The sun’s setting, and it’s beautiful. I’m feeling all the feels. I realize, despite the craziness, Canegrate is home. The people, the streets, the vibe. It’s messy, but it’s ours. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Canegrate, you wild, but I love ya!
