Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a raftsman in Canicattini-Bagni ain’t for the faint-hearted. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window on Via Roma. I’m like, “Great, another scorcher.” But hey, I’m used to it. First thing, I grab my coffee. Strong stuff, you know? I need it. I head out, and the streets are buzzin’. People everywhere, chattin’ away. I pass by the market on Piazza della Repubblica. Fresh fruits, veggies, and that sweet smell of cannoli. Ugh, I could live off those! But then, bam! I trip over some kid’s bike. Seriously, who leaves their bike in the middle of the sidewalk? I’m like, “Hey, kid! Watch it!” But he just stares at me like I’m the crazy one. Whatever, I brush it off. So, I get to the river, right? The Anapo River. It’s flowin’ nice and smooth today. I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” But then, outta nowhere, this group of tourists shows up. They’re loud, takin’ selfies, and I’m just tryin’ to do my thing. I mean, c’mon! I’m here to work, not be a backdrop for your Instagram! But then, one of ‘em, this girl, she’s got this huge smile. She asks me about the river. I’m like, “It’s beautiful, but don’t fall in!” We laugh, and suddenly, I’m feelin’ good again. It’s wild how a smile can change your mood, ya know? Then, I’m floatin’ down the river, and it’s peaceful. The sun’s glintin’ off the water, and I’m just cruisin’. But then, I see this old man on the bank. He’s tryin’ to catch fish with a net. I shout, “Hey, you catchin’ dinner?” He yells back, “More like catchin’ a cold!” Classic! But then, things take a turn. I hear this loud crash. I look up, and a tree branch falls right into the river! I’m like, “What the heck?!” It’s chaos! Water splashes everywhere. I’m soaked! I’m laughin’ and cursing at the same time. After that, I decide to head back. I’m walkin’ through Via Garibaldi, and I see this little gelato shop. I can’t resist. I grab a scoop of pistachio. Best decision ever! I’m sittin’ on a bench, just enjoyin’ life. But then, I see my buddy, Marco. He’s always got some wild story. He tells me he saw a goat on the loose in the town square. A goat! In Canicattini-Bagni! I can’t even. We’re laughin’ so hard, people are lookin’ at us like we’re nuts. As the sun sets, I’m headin’ home. I pass by the old church, San Michele Arcangelo. It’s beautiful, all lit up. I stop for a sec, just takin’ it in. This place, man, it’s got a vibe. Finally, I get home, and I’m beat. But I can’t help but smile. Today was a rollercoaster. From trippin’ over bikes to laughin’ with tourists, Canicattini-Bagni never fails to surprise me. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another crazy, beautiful day in this wild little town. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
