Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an arborist in Cantu is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, Via Roma. I’m there to check out this massive oak. I mean, HUGE. Like, if trees had a weight class, this one would be heavyweight champ. But guess what? Some genius decided to park their car right under it. Like, c’mon! You really think that’s a good idea? I’m standing there, shaking my head, thinking, “Dude, you’re just asking for a branch to fall on your ride.” So, I’m up in the tree, doing my thing, and suddenly, I hear this loud crash. My heart drops. I’m like, “No way, please don’t let it be the car.” I peek down, and it’s just a bunch of kids playing soccer. Phew! But then, one of ‘em kicks the ball, and it goes straight for my ladder. I’m like, “Oh no, not today!” I barely catch it. I’m sweating bullets, man. After that little heart attack, I head over to Piazza Garibaldi. It’s a beautiful spot, but today? Packed with tourists. I mean, I love the vibe, but c’mon, can’t a guy work in peace? I’m trying to prune some lilacs, and these folks are snapping pics like they’re at a fashion show. “Hey, look at me with the flowers!” I’m like, “Yeah, great, but can you not stand in my way?” Then, I get a call from my buddy Marco. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta see this!” I’m thinking, “What now?” Turns out, he found a tree that’s been growing sideways on Via Cavour. I’m intrigued, so I rush over. And wow, it’s wild! This tree looks like it’s trying to escape or something. I snap a pic, and it’s gonna be my new profile pic. But then, I get a text from a client. “My tree is dying!” Panic mode activated. I’m like, “What do you mean dying?!” I race over to Via Dante. This poor tree looks like it’s seen better days. I’m checking the roots, and I find a bunch of trash buried in there. Seriously? Who does that? I’m fuming. “People, it’s not a landfill!” By now, I’m exhausted. I grab a quick espresso at my favorite spot, Bar Centrale. Best coffee in Cantu, no contest. I’m sitting there, trying to chill, but my mind’s racing. I can’t stop thinking about that sideways tree. It’s like a puzzle I need to solve. Finally, I head back to the office. I’m beat, but I can’t shake the day’s craziness. I sit down, and my phone buzzes. It’s a message from a friend. “Let’s hit up the festival tonight!” I’m like, “Why not?” I need a break. So, I hit the streets again, this time for fun. Cantu’s nightlife is lit! The lights, the music, the food stalls everywhere. I grab a slice of pizza from a vendor on Via Mazzini. It’s greasy, but who cares? I’m living my best life. As I’m walking, I bump into some old pals. We’re laughing, sharing stories, and I forget all about the crazy day. Cantu’s got this magic, ya know? It’s chaotic, but it’s home. By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. I think about the trees I’ve seen today, the people I’ve met, and the wild moments. Cantu, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
